Quick Question about including Pictures

Feel kinda stupid. I know I saw the instructions on how to include photos in a posting, now I can't figure it out. Has something changed? Not likely, probably just didn't get enough sleep last night.

Warren I know EXACTLY how you feel. I can't post pictures either. I printed off the directions and YES they have changed from what I printed. LOL doesn't it just figure? I guess I'll go to my grave not knowing how to post them. I just hate it when I have something really pretty blooming in the gardens and I can't share it with others. Of course it's probably a good thing that I can't post them. I'd be on the computer hogging up all the forum with my photos. So see folks, sometimes it good that you don't know how to so certain things. (Big Fat Grin)

But I still want to learn how. (frown)

Don't feel stupid Warren. The only stupid question is the one you DON'T ask! Once you do it you'll get the hang of it. First all you pix should be in Photobucket. I think it's the easiest site. When you decide what pix you want to post here, click the individual boxes under those pics. Go to the bottom of the photobucket page, and click on "Generate html blah blah blah codes" (great qoute there right, lol) A new page comes up..you want to just click on the contents of the first box/option. It will automatically be copied for you when you click on it(a lil yellow box comes up that says "copied") then come here and paste it into your post.
I always like to do it with 2 windows open, just easier for me.
I know how ya feel, I didn't get much sleep either..can barely type, lol. coooofffeeeee!!!!

Ya need any more help just holler!

I think this probably means plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures but I would clarify this. If the only project in the contract is the bathroom, and you are buying all the fixtures yourself, you and and your contractor may want to rethink the contract. The contractors I use do contracts like yours if they are responsible for supplying everything because they charge above their cost to determine the allowances. (They mark up the prices on what they pay). When I did a job where I was supplying all of the fixtures and a certain amount of the finish materials, they would do time and materials contracts (materials being construction materials I didn't supply). This is generally more expensive in terms of labor because it is an hourly rate. In any case you want to clarify exactly who is supplying what, and how this affects the overall budget. Again, when clients supply certain materials, and pay X for it, the contractor does not subtract X from the allowance, it is usually X minus something.

Quick question about white clashing with off white

It really can be beautiful but risky as well. I once had a white silk blouse, real white white, that I wore with a cream suit and a black velvet tie at the neck pinned by a cameo of brown and ivory that was one of my best looks but I feared it when I first put it on but each time I wore it, I got so many compliments. On the other hand, I put on a white jacket with a scarf of off white once and the scarf looked dirty. It's difficult indeed.

quick question about bathroom tile

My first glance didn't see the border as "too much", until it was focused on. Then it did seem a bit large. I would live with this for a while and add details as others mentioned. You could play with the tile using contact paper to change tile size, add black trim ect. But even the inspiration pics, there are things I would change. Final thoughts are the pattern is is a bit large and yes to wider black trim. A half round black on top of the upper tiles would work as a detail and easy to install. Not sure painting tiles is the answer. Love the BW ticking shower curtain shown. I just finished my kitchen with BW tile and bead board to bring back the feeling of my little 50s house. It is great to know others are around that have some comfort with this style.

Quick question about what grout joint size should be

A lot of time, basic 6x6's will come with tile lugs that create a predetermined spacing for the tile. You need to find out if the tile you are interested in has that. If not, then remember that the thinner the grout lines, the less wavy your wall has to be or else you will have problems. If you are doing this from the studs out as new construction, then be sure that you use a long enough level to check to be sure that all of the studs are plumb and they are all perfectly in line. If one is off, it will throw off your whole tile spacing if you are planning on thin grout lines. Thicker grout lines are always more forgiving for a novice tiler.
