I don't know if this is of any help, but I sterilize all my clippers in a can or jar of alcohol, between each cut... I keep a large open-mouth jar full of alcohol, in a pail, with my clippers, and dip the clippers between each cut...and put the cover back on the jar of alcohol when I'm done.... I have a large rose-bed and learned to do this the hard way--- several years ago I would just do my pruning with the same clippers, no sterilizing-- until I was hit with canker and it spread like wild-fire, it is spread by cutting, wounds to the cane, cross-canes that scrape each other--etc.also the weather contributes, cool and rainy and overcast... and I lost a lot of my roses--- it was just the straw so to speak that woke me up to my carelessness, an expensive lesson! So now I keep a pail for the roses, and another pail for the orchids, both with the jar of alcohol and their own clippers... and have not had any problems since.... works for me, LOL, sally

Put it in a pot and see what happens. Are there any other roses in the area, and if so, how are they doing? What kind of sun was it getting? How were you fertilizing? Bananas and grounds are not enough to feed a rose. Some plants are just not good, but some just need a jump-start.

I would just hold your horses and wait. Running bamboo growing season is spring and clumping in the summer. My bamboo's don't always follow that rule. You can feed it but not during the growing period. Lucky bamboo isn't really bamboo. I would check out that other site.

If you have a problem with yellowing, curling leaves, take a look at the roots. Is your citrus sitting in a pan of water. That is a No-No. It should be planted in well drained soil. If it is too late to worry about overwatering, then you need to do one of two things. (1) repot in fresh, well drained soil. When you dig out the roots, smell of them. If the roots smell sour, you have a bad case of root rot. You should mix a solution of 20% chlorine blech and 80% water. Wash the roots before repotting. The bleach will kill the bacteria that is attacking your roots. If you treat the roots soon enough, you can save the plant. (2) If you prefer the lazy way, mix a solution of chlorine each as noted above and water the plant. I suggest a very heavy watering to soak the soil and roots with the bleach lution. Then hold off on watering several days until the top 2 inches are dry. Water sparingly. Information Provided by TSmith2579
