Good source for succulents in southern Ontario?

Hi folks!

I've been mostly hanging out over in the kitchen forum, but decided to check out the garden forum too. Nice to meet you!

I was wondering if anyone out there has a good source for succulents in southern ontario. I'm in hamilton area specifically, but don't mind going as far as Toronto etc.

I haven't found many places locally that carry a good selection of succulents. I'm looking for varieties of hens and chicks, sedums etc.

Try Cavendish perennials in Burlington. They have a large selection of different sempervivums, orostachys and rosularias as well as various sedums. I have ordered from them in the past and always was very satisfied with what I received.

I have bought canna and calla root at Home Depot in early spring. But I do prefer our local garden center, as the root isn't bagged and it is stored in peat. I picked up a few varietes last year - both dark and striped leafed colours. I'm close to Belleville and use Thrashers Garden Center.

I hesitated to list the one place I've seen currants in Ontario. Not because of any problems I've had with the place, in fact I was greatly satisfied with my purchases there, but because I have not bought any edibles there. Even so, here is the information. Green Valley Garden Centre 519-326-2341 Ruthven, ON I saw red currants, hardy kiwi (which I would have gotten, but customs would have been a problem) and figs there. ~Chills

Potassium - what are good sources

blondboy47 I bought a bag of water soluble potash 0-0-60 at a local greenhouse. It was no where to be found in the big-box stores. I spinkled that and some epsom around the base of the palms and they both readily absorbed into the soil with a little water.
