Any idea of what this could be?

I was in Ocean Beach (San Diego) the other day and saw an awesome looking succulent growing at the beach. I don't know if it was actually planted there or if it was a native. I don't have a picture of it, but here's my best description:

It formed a low growing mound less than six inches high and about four feet in diameter. The leaves were blueish-grey and wavy. Also, the leaves were covered on all sides in what looked like little dew drops. When these were pressed, they would release a clear liquid. I'm assuming that's how it retained moisture.

does anyone have an idea of what this plant could be?

My 2 cents would be that it is a form of iceplant, possibly drosanthemum speciosum.

Well, I wouldn't describe the leaf color as bluish-grey (light green, maybe?), but the rest of it seems to fit Mesembryanthemum crystallinum...a really cool plant, IMO! They can take on a very nice red coloring too. :)

I brought a few branches home from the stables a couple weeks ago...but forgot them, so the leaves are all shriveled up now. No current pix available. :(

I can't view the link I posted above, so this will be a duplicate post. I went back to Google IMAGES and saved it to my faves, where it does open correctly, so I'm just trying again. I have been having some problems with Adobe Reader, so we shall see. No history on this variety.it just appeared at a couple of seed sites a few years ago. Maybe I'm unusual, but I never even realized any lack of punctuation. I can always read straight through no problem. I've noticed some misspelled words rarely,but they can be a springboard for some good jokes. I always thought most mint species never got eaten by mammals, ( besides humans). Your bunnies have have a thing for Mediterranean/ Mideastern cuisine?

It is really difficult to match a color from a photo because the color changes from glare or shadow. Nonetheless, I sampled the color from the left of the mirror and came up with Red, Green, Blue numbers of 213, 219, 235. I input the colors on the website EasyRGB that matches those numbers to actual paint colors. To my eye, the closest match was Kelly Moore's KM5627-1 Blissful Meditation. Number 2 was Ace's Clark & Kensington brand 38D-1 Sailing Off and the third match was with Valspar's 246-2 Shooting Star. However, you should always buy a sample size to try in the room where you want to use the paint, because a color can look different at various times of the day and under indoor lighting.

They grow from seed very easily.
