What an absolutely gorgeous girl Aisha is! Her little upturned face makes my heart smile. I take my boy (Tommy) outside to enjoy, too. He can't get enough sniffing of where the foxes have been. Heaven forbid there's a dog in the area though, I have to run after him to keep him from attacking it!

Well today Aisha was still very cautious and kind of scared lol

But a BIG deer, must have been a mommy, was right by the fence in the neighbors yard and let me tell you. It sure looked like the deer would jump over the 6' fence any minute to take care of HER BABY. That is the look she had on her face lol

After all, she followed Aisha around the 3 sides of our fence where you can look inside the yard lol

It is beautiful to watch them outside, isn't it.

Aisha is a doll! So pretty. And I love her name as well. My kitties LOVE going outside. The girls never wander off very far, but I sure have to keep my eye on my little boy! Or he'll be over the fence and off exploring before you know it.

This one time, I had one of the girls outside with me, in the evening, just as the last rays of sun were coming through the trees. I had the sprinkler on, one of those lawn sprinklers that's like fan going back and forth. Anyway, she was captivated by the tiny little droplets of water falling through the beams of sunlight between the trees. She was out chasing them as they fell, oblivious to the fact she was getting soaked! Who says cat's don't like water?? lol

That is a beautiful kitty! I just love cats. I don't like it when they catch stuff though but I know it is their nature. I was afraid mine would run away after we moved but she loves it here. Sometimes they will go back to where they lived before. She likes to go into the bamboo groves. I guess she thinks it is a jungle in there. haha

Oh the one reason why I am scared of taking them outside.That they wonder off. That I would not want. Just to scared that they will not make it back one day.

She ACTS like a girl too lol. Spoiled spoiled and all has to be HER way or no way lol.

Ryan I betcha that was such a fun thing to watch. Aisha...here this thread is getting REAL BAD...sometimes has diarrea (sp) and is SO dirty, that I have no choice but to wash her fur in the bathtub. Well...talk about hating water!

Luckily...knock on wood....she has not had it in a long time.

LOL, Lucy! Been there done that!!

My little boy once knocked over a bottle of fungicide for my roses. He got the stuff EVERYWHERE, including himself! Mind you this was concentrated stuff. He spent the better part of that day taking shower after shower! I'd get him out of the shower, dry him off, and if I could still smell the fungicide, back in the shower he went! After the fungicide ate a hole in the linoleum floor, I wasn't about to take a chance on him licking himself! Fortunately I must have got it all off, as he never got sick (and he never held a grudge about getting a dozen showers in one day!). I learned that day that those child proof caps aren't cat proof!

Not meaning to lecture (& probably failing miserably) but you really should keep your cats indoors. They will live longer, healthier & happier-in-the-long-run lives. They are not wild creatures anymore (even with their killer tendencies) & cannot take care of themselves. If you NEVER let them out (& for heaven's sake, don't take them out to enjoy the outdoors), they will never know what they are missing. I know you mean well & think you are giving them a treat, but it could mean possible death if they run out at a bad time (they can be very sneaky) & can't be caught. If they get out & then change their mind, a scared cat will hide & you might walk right past searching & calling & not find him. They can also get beat up by other cats or dogs (your cat is in their territory now & they want him gone), get fleas, worms or diseases from where other cats have toileted, hit by cars (a sport for some sickos), shot by guns or arrows, poisoned, stolen to be sold to a lab (yes, they still do this) or to train fighting dogs (!). And your nice, sweet, friendly pet is easy for someone to catch & torture. I've seen way too much of it. Even if you just mean to take them out for a few minutes, sh*t happens. Please just give them a nice, long life indoors, they will be much better off & you will know where they are.

Linda until Amadeus got sick, I thought the same way. ALWAYS.

Now with not letting the little one out for fear she run away, I have to be very careful that neither one feels neglected. But it does feel special for Aisha and I just need to give her at least a few days of her freedom to have her space.

Amadeus was JUST indoors and he only turned 9 years. So what did we loose? Having a great time outside for a short while together. They have all their immunizations if I take them out. But you know, our other female who was also just a indoor cat, fell of the scratching pole tree. Broke her hip and had to be put down my husband told me. She only turned 15 years old.

They are very good points Linda, but I just go with my instincts for now and see what happens.
