More blooms, still no brugs

Ever so slowly plants are starting to bloom. Here's the first P. murucuja of the season. This is one of my favorites.

My catalpa is in full bloom and so far no caterpillars. It's really a beautiful tree when in bloom. It's about 30' tall with a wide spreading canopy completely covered in flowers. It just spreads so darn easily and I'm constantly pulling out saplings.

A Dragon Fruit and an epi that I started from seed last year. The dragon fruit won't lose the spines until it matures.

wow Karyn, the 2 from seeds are BIG already!
the 4th picture...have no clue what you call it here, but we used to try find it and use it in dried flower arrangements. BIG vases lol

Your pictures are GREAT and so are the plants in them :-)

ENJOY every one of em. You waited so long for them to start growing and blooming.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else know why it may not bloom for me this season? It's getting closer and closer to when they were blooming last year and the buds are still super super small. I don't think they'll have enough time to bloom. The only thing different is that I didn't water this one as much as last year, but it never once wilted on me either. It grew well without much help from MG too. Also over the summer I had also given it 2-3 doses of MG Bloom Booster. Getting kinda worried as to why it may not bloom this year. Don't wanna make the same mistakes next year.

Lucky's orange is so pretty and it is a nice color for Halloween coming up too, lol. I like the rose. I got one called double delight last year that looks similar. I can't seem to get any good pics of the roses. I need to spray again too. I was just checking on the bloom from shredded white and it still hasn't dropped much. It looks like an alien coiled up in there. Didn't help that I found a green worm in the petals. He got smooshed since I couldn't pull off the whole leaf like I usually do. I hate touching them but I didn't want him to eat anymore of the bloom waiting on John to come smash him, lol.

Thanks everybody. Yeah I was kinda shocked to see that preying mantis. I used to get lots of them down the hill in the mobile home park we lived in. We're quite a bit higher elevation here, and they're pretty rare here. The only time I ever saw any here in the past, was when I bought an egg sac and released them. She disappeared the next day. No idea where she could be.

we've got a massive catalpa somewhere in the woods here. I always thought it was neat that they bloom every two years.

Ria what kind of Catalpa only blooms every 2 years? Mine blooms every spring. Maybe the ones you think only bloom every two years have had all the buds eaten off by the Catalpa worms? I've had infestations many times though thankfully not last year and hopefully not this year. I've had up to 3 infestations in a single year and each one completely defoliates the tree. It's aaamazing that it comes back after that kind of assault.

Lucy the tall things are variegated cattails and many people use the "bloom" in arrangements. The epi's and Dragon Fruit were easy from seed, just kind of slow. I have a bunch of other assorted cactuses and stapelias that I grew from seed too.

Karyn I started some Dragon Fruit in the GH the frist of the year.
Its still real tiny. Any tips?
What is the 3rd pic under misc. blooms?

They are all so beautiful Karen! I especially love the P. murucuja, the fuschia (in picture 7, at least I think it's a fuschia) and the red flower in picture 5.

I meant to say every other year - but yeah, they definitely do here. some trees in town bloom one year, and then the others the next year, repeat. really? yours doesn't?
