I am happy to report that the tomato you gave me (I forget it's name but you said it was orange and could be grown in a container) is planted in my garden and is about 3.5 feet tall, blooming away with some tiny fruit on it. this could be a first for me as I have never successfully grown a tomato in my life.

You've got either Sungold OP or Orange Banana, sounds like. You'll know in a bit which one you've got because Sungold is a cherry and Orange Banana is a paste which will look like an elongated plum. Sungold gets very tall, but mine's in a container, too, so no worries, just make sure you stake it. Orange Banana will get more bushy and grow lots of suckers, which you can just let grow and tie up as necessary.

My two are doing great. The O-somethingorother bloomed about a week ago and is growing a tomato, and the Aunt Ruby has a few flowers right now. Since they bloomed at different times, and the other tomato plants I'm growing haven't bloomed yet, my family is under strict no-picking orders for the first tomatoes on both plants.

I think you got a watermelon (or was it a pumpkin, can't recall) and a sunflower from me, right? How are they doing?
The sunflower was supposed to grow up into a 6ft tall plant, but I've discovered I somehow got my hybrid seed mixed with non hybrid seed, so that plant might be coming up as a cute little dwarf branching red and I'm curious as to what it is turning into if you decided to plant it.

I got a tomatoe plant from marino it is doing well got tomatoes on it already and is about 4 ft.

Keiaraa,I brought home some of your sunflowers from the swap and yes,they are budding and about two feet tall.The funniest thing about this is that I planted them behind Castor Beans.LOL
Not to worry,as they will make a nice cut flower to brighten inside of the house.
To the swapper who gave me the heirloom tomato plant(I cannot remember the type,but she did say it was determinate)
Anyhow it's growing like crazy in the container and is full of flowers.Very healthy looking!
I must say that all the plants I traded for that day are doing exceptionally well.Can't wait for next summer,as I know I'll have a much better showing.
I did get sunflower seedlings from another swapper and they're three feet tall so far and looking healthy.

Hi Julianna
You generously traded away your Orange Banana, Carbon, Purple Russian and a RL SOTW. They are all in pots in mostly full sun. Lots of flowers, no fruit yet. I did not stake them well so they are kinda floppy but thats okay as they are mostly contained in the pot or overlooking interlocking.
BTW, of the ones I seeded myself, I have small fruit on Stupice, Sara's Galapagos and Tiny Tim and a cluster of big ones on Silvery Fir Tree. I might try to bag some later to save the seeds, so let me know if you are interested in any of these. Thanks again!

Julianna, I think I got two tomato plants from you! I got a total of 3 pots from the West Swap and they're all doing well -- some already have flowers! :) I'm thrilled to have them.

You generously gave me a Black Plum Tomato plant. It is about 24 inches tall and blooming. No fruit yet.
It's been so hot and dry here in Bath, west of Kingston, I'm surprised that all my plants are doing as well as they are.
I will let you know when the tomato plant bears fruit.

Hi Julianna,
You gave me Marvel Stripe and Black Tula. Both are blooming now and are are about the same height at around 8-10 inches. The plants appear quite healthy and I can't wait to try these tomatoes!

We have fruit! On Carbon and Orange Banana. On my own plants from seed, the stupice are starting to turn orange!! Very very exciting - my DH thinks I should get out more often ;)
Its been dry here north of Hwy 7, watering daily sometimes twice a day for pots. Hope I dont end up with BER as sometimes the plants look droopy by evening time even though they were watered in the morning.
