ot got a bit of good news!

ok so I know I am a proud mom and I can talk your ears off about my girls but I just had to share. My eldest (17) just got a small role in our local theatre company's production of High School Musical. She was the understudy and someone dropped out (rehersals haven't even started) Her dad was on her to get a summer job, that is the best part, since this is part of a professional company she will get paid for rehersals and performance! We don't know what she will get paid but to me that doesn't really matter this will look good on her resume (she wants to major in theatre in college). I think I may be more excited than she is. All of this happened right after a sever case of tonsilitis thank goodness they don't want to take them out. Just hope she stays well all summer.

Some cats like to scratch vertically, and some horizontally. Some cats, like mine, don't care either way. We have some nice carpets, and one cat in particular likes to use them as scratching posts. In an attempt to prevent this behavior, I've placed horizontal cardboard scratching posts next to, and sometimes directly on, the carpets. Another thing to bear in mind is that cats like to scratch after waking up. I've got these cardboard scratching posts near all their favorite napping places, too. Now if only I could stop them from barfing on the oriental carpets! Seriously, most of our rugs have some damage from the cats - stains and/or scratched places. I'm trying to be relaxed about the whole idea. In fact, I've just placed a gabbeh, which had been rolled up and stored on the floor of an unused room, in our sunroom. It's pristine, but I'm sure that won't last long. (And both cats loved to use the back of it as a scratching post. They love that rough texture.)

My favorite memories of drive-ins are of children. When my daughter was eight, I took her downtown to see Mary Poppins. She loved it so she wanted to stay and watch it again. When I said we had to leave and go home to cook Daddy some supper, she thought a minute and said, "Maybe it will come to the drive-in and Daddy will take us to see it again." Later, my sister and I had gone to see Debbie Reynolds in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. We took the children, my niece was small, got tired, and wanted to know when that long 'mercial would be over. (Commercial, of course.)

Once the parts start coming, that means you will be going all over the place to support your DD! At least that is what my brother and sister in law used to do. Congrats!

That's great Mary. I know you are so proud of her and will support her every inche of the way.

Yippee, we may have a future movie star in the making. (grin).

A couple of years ago some people snickered at the blonde Lamberet Girl from Lindale, Texas for wanting to be a country singer. Well guess what, she beat out everyone and got entertainer of the year recently.

Lindale, is just around the curb from us about 30 miles and part of our grandchildren live in Lindale so it was a very big thing to everyone in this part of East Texas.

Tell your DD to go and live her dreams. Sound like alot of fun to me.

Congrats! She must be quite talented. That was such a cute production. I took my DD to see it at the National Theater a few months ago.
