I'm so happy for you Marcie. Alot of these fine folks shared some of their seeds with me but I can't get them to sprout for some reason. I planted them all directly in the ground like someone suggested and now I don't have any that I could try in seed trays. Needless to say, I'm not happy so I guess I'll have to wait until fall to get some more seeds from these fine folks. ('Argggghhhh)

I got to meet Marcie, for just a minute. I just drove down from the coast. She came by, but only had a few minutes. She brought me a beautiful potato vine, it was so sweet of her. Marcie, I hope your white double datura plants do well for you. I got my seeds from Jim Chaney, does anyone know where Jim is, and how hes doing? He sent me double white, double yellow and double cream. The double white and double yellow came up right away. I all but gave up on the cream, and just noticed Sunday, that quite a few cream are just comimg up. I wonder why they were so slow? They were all planted at the same time, in the same covered heated seed mat. Barbra,

I got an email from Jim yesterday, so he's around. Barbra the daturas that Jim has were from seeds I sent him a couple years ago. I was so glad they did well for him because DH decided to mow down my only yellow dat that had mature seed pods. Don't ask how DH managed to mow down a plant that was over 2' tall! I was so angry but got over it when he asked if I'd like to mow the lawn instead. lol The daturas, especially the doubles and triples have really erratic germination rates. I have seeds coming up months after I've planted them.

Happy to say my Datura seeds (that the raccoons got into) have sprouted. The ones with the sharply pointed leaves and single lite purple flowere are tall and blooming. The round leafed ones are still very sprout-like, and slow growing, but coming a long nicely. So sorry they got mixed up, so I don't know where each color will be or from whom they came. I'll just holler a big THANK YOU to the generous seed senders!!!Have a few double purple and a few double yellow in some of the Brug pots. Will let you know when they bloom, Karyn if you still want seeds.

Well I planted my seeds over a month ago directly into the ground like someone on here suggested. So far I have not seen anything coming up where I planted them.

Maybe they will still come up since Karyn said some of hers come up later. I'll keep watching but I'm kind of worried that I will not have any of those beautiful darlings gracing my flowerbeds this year. (frown) I'll just have to wait and see.

Well I was wrong! but my seedlings did great one went on to even produce seeds the other one is barely alive! She is a beauty, cream color! the one living, so back to the hunt! anyone out there with dble white datura seeds? can trade for some seeds or plant cuttings. (please]. Thanks marcie
