I bought 3 no name brugs fron a cheap mail order catalog last year. One each White, pink and peach. One was DOA but the two others grew to about 4 foot tall last year.

I was so excited to see several buds last year but a killing frost zapped them about a week before it was to bloom. I disected the bud but it was too green to even tell what color it would have been.

The plants were dug up and hauled into my basement for the winter 45 degrees constant with high humidity and absolutely no light.

Late February I brought them up and into my sunroom(no direct light). This last month they have been placed outside when temps were to stay above 40.

I really want to see them bloom this year I am so excited.

How may weeks does it take to get from first bud to bloom???

All the discussion I am seeing says that buds form at or above the Y. My largest bud is clearly on a new branch that is 8 inches below last years Y that was lost to frost. Any comments???

The second one must have got too much frost. The branches shriveled and were dead. Starting over from the root ball.
