Please help me plan a butterfly garden w/ interesting conditions

Please help me plan a butterfly garden with interesting conditions. I live in Plymouth County, Mass. in zone 6b. I have a low area at the edge of my property in which I would like to plant a garden. The ground slopes down away from my house to this area then up on the other side into natural woods. Water runs here so in the spring and early summer the plants would have wet feet, although by late summer it gets drier. Currently moss and a few cattails are growing in this area. This area gets full shade from sunrise to noon, dappled sun from noon to 3 and full sun from 3 to 6. I won't see this area every day, but I would love to plants that would attract more butterflies to my yard in general. The area is 6' by 40'.

So far I have come up with:

Lindera benzion (Spicebush)

Clethera alnifolia (Summersweet)

Itea virginica (Virginia Sweetspire)

Sassafras albidum (Sassafras tree)

Do these plants seem appropriate for these conditions? Do you have any others I should add to the list?

I'd love to hear ideas for this spot and conditions. Thanks!

Lisa
