BSTs eclosing in the evening?

After several years of raising monarchs, I am raising my first ever BSTs. I was surprised today when the first eclosed around 2:30pm, and I was planning on keeping him overnight, but he was battering around the cage by 5:30pm so I set him free and he flew off high and strong. To my amazement, another just eclosed! It's 7:30pm! LOL.. I am so used to monarchs who almost always make their appearance in the morning!
This guy is going to have to spend the night whether he likes it or not.
I assume this is normal for them? It doesn't seem safe to eclose right before nightfall in the wild....
