Night Blooming Cereus Cutting

I just got 3 cuttings from a friend who grows a lot of Night Blooming Cereus' (sp?) From the research I've done, they seem to be epiphytic plants living high in trees, however, he has them growing in pots of soil, with nothing but water and a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning. But they bloom like crazy every summer. I cut two, mid-leaf and one at the node, dipped them in rooting hormone powder, and set them a few inches into some barely moist perlite. They are sitting in an E/W balcony, that gets direct light at sunrise as well as sunset. Is anyone familiar with these and they best way to root, grow, and flower these utterly amazing plants. In the past I have allowed the cuttings to callus off for a few days. I have even forgotten them and when remembered I have found the cuttings to have sent roots out of the nodes closest to the cut end and have even seen root come out of the area close to the midrib and the tip. They need to be planted in a light quick draining mixture. I have used anything from compost, violet mix or just a very good commercial potting soil. My bloomers are potbound and are fertilized with a dilute blooming plants liquid fertilizer.
Another in the epiphytic family that usually blooms in the day is the orchid cactus. Many colorful blooms.

Want - fragrant native azaleas

I would love to find any fragrant native azaleas that will survive the heat of the South. I am looking for: Rhododendron arborescens Rhododendron canescens Rhododendron austrinum (Florida azalea) Rhododendron alabamense Rhododendron prinophyllum Rhododendron viscosum Any other native azalea that is really fragrant will be much appreciated. I believe many of these, if not all, can reseed, and some might be able to be rooted. I would love a rooted plant from a cutting or a seed. It does not have to be a large plant, just have a healthy root system. I can send you an Oakleaf hydrangea, flowering quince, indigofera, forsythia cutting/possibly rooted, grape hyacinths, toad lily seedlings, oregano, night-blooming cereus cutting (tropical) plus any others on my exchange list. All of the plants I will send will be somewhat small because they will be mailed, and because they are just starting out from seed or the parent plant. Let me know what you are looking for. Some of the plants I have are dormant, and some I cannot send until they come back from the winter. Others, like the gardenia, I will have to root and will need summer heat to do so. The best of these plants (that you'll need to wait for) are: Gardenia rooted Brugmansia rooted Butterfly vine rooted Hosta - green leaves/white flowers If you have a fragrant azalea to trade, let me know what you are looking for.
