I have a patch of scarlet milkweed and butterfly weed in my b-fly garden. They have become totally covered by milkweed bugs-those pesky orange and black critters. All of my milkweed and butterfly weed have lost all blooms and leaves. There has been no cat activity on them at all (they are checked almost daily) so I assume that it was these bugs that did the defoliation? I have monarchs in the yard but just visiting the nectar plants.I knock off the bugs when I go out-just to make me feel better as they return immediately. Anyone else suffer through this problem and if so -what do I do to get my milkweed growing leaves again?
