I agree it looks a bit like K-31, but at the same time it doesn't. That color is blue green, which isn't typical of K-31. Perhaps it is just a photographic artifact. Also it looks like it has a prominent central vein, as the blades have a distinct fold to them, which isn't typical of tall fescue. Here I am ...lol Hi Andrew: I most defiantly would make a direct question to "Rhizzo" or "Jean" since they may not even be aware of this problem you are having. I would also look up the Pest and Disease forum since that is where they hang out, and ask the same question there. I can guarantee that you will be helped as fast as lightning since they are just two of many that are always willing to help. They are usually spot on too. I wish I could help, but I have never seen this type pest before and you want to make sure you treat it with the right pesticide if they are pest's. Do they leave a sappy or sticky residue on the leaves anywhere? When did you first notice them? What affect are they having on the leaves? At what temps do you grow them? What is the coolest you can grow them at? Have you tried any sprays yet? Are the trees small enough to wipe these things off with a cloth and water? Sorry for so many questions, but I like a lot of detail:-) Let us know, ok. Hope you are doing good. We can keep these thread going if you wish too. Could be a fungus like Vladimir said, could also be an insect egg or just dirt on a bit of fluff. However, I'm more concerned with how dusty the leaves are. I may just be dust or it could be the beginnings of a spider mite infestation. It's a good idea to wash off the leaves from time to time, like maybe every 4-6 weeks. Take them outside and hose them off, or if that's not possible, put them in the shower and shower them off with cool water. Then let them drain well and put them back where they were. It helps prevent spider mites as they're attracted to dusty plants. And your plants love the rinsing off!

Leaves on affected branches suddenly turn yellow and wilt. Branch tips usually die. Gray blotches appear on the bark and stem, and then sunken areas (cankers) develop, eventually girdling the stem. Parts of the plant above the stem canker lose vigor, wilt and die. Damaged plants show more symptoms during hot, dry weather.
