Daniella, welcome back and it appears you have been really busy. Sometimes plants go into shock when being moved, they just need time to adjust. As for what is eating your leaves, little green worms? Dust with sevin-5 should do for those unless you want to pick them off?

I can now say the Brug House is down and to my surprise one of our big Epies has 4 buds. All the Brugs are outside and we are seeing more albino babies pop up outside!

Hey Daniella and welcome back!! I've been busy lately too and try and jump on here for a few minutes at least every day. Not sure what kinds of bugs you're dealing with but some of those might be beneficials and will take care of the bad bugs for you. If you see these, leave them alone. They're ladybug larvae.

Karma, congrats on the buds & the baby albinos!! I saw the pix on the site today, all is looking good! Keep up the great work!~ I have been checking periodically through the day and have not seen any sign of anything other than slugs. Did some hunting after I found one loungin on the undeside of a leaf Sun morn at about 7 am..turned over rocks and logs and found quite a few..they are not with us anymore!!

Michelle, Thanks! I know about the ladybug larvae..every spring when I walk I steal them from bushes and other plants near the sidewalks and in the parks, lol. Can never have too many of those babies in the yard. Unfortunately I haven't seen any in my yard or anywhere else yet. I may have to buy some this year..gonna have to find out where MIL gets hers.

I put together a lil slideshow if anyone cares to see..just of my progress up till today & some of what's blooming today.. Still workin like a dog on the pond. Seedlings are finally coming up in the front of the upper pond, yay!! Can't wait till they get big enough to cover the front edge. Nothin great yet..still has to fill in. Still alot of work to be done. Something keeps stealing water plants and messing up the streambed, knocking rocks in the water. Like I need any help with that..I just had to redo it a 4th time yesterday!! First I screwed it up being too rough, then I ripped the liner, then I had a leak..then I had another, lol. I'm just too rough stickin the slate, or shale whatever it is in there. But I think it is finally fixed! *knock on wood* It better be fixed..I'm outta liner!

Barry..the brugs are there around the pond area, but they are just too small and not alot of leaves yet, lol. They are getting lotsa baby leaves, mine don't look like yours, that's for sure, lol!! You got yours outside yet?

You have been on my mind!! I am so glad you are back.. I have had some nibblers also.. They usually don't stay around long so I just pick'em if I see'em ..Not much on the chemical thing...everybody has to eat something...LOL nature will ususally balance itself out given the chance..

Hey Kylie, who won the contest?? I've never used the chemicals myself before this past winter. Always stuck to the soap/water treatments and the alcohol. I figured I have a couple bottles, might as well use em. But if things get out of control I am going to have to use the Bayer 3in1.

Bonnie, I am so glad to hear he is doing well! Aw those hens n chicks are too cute, lol. I've never seen any that were so bright green before! They're almost neon! I love it, they stand out so well. I just um..borrowed some lol..from a place that closed down, and I know the new owners are just going to tear up the bed the last owners made. How could I let them be killed? So I rescued them. They are purple. When the place gets bought I will see if the new owners want to get rid of the bigger stuff and if so I will ask if I can have it. Mine never lasts though..squirells always get it.

LOL, DH just stopped home and brought me some duck decoys..thought I could use them in the pond, like my pond is big enough, lmao. I put the females around the bed hiding in between plants and put the mallard in the pond. I tied him with some fishing line so he wouldn't disturb the waterlilies, but I think I may untie him. It looks so funny. I'm not gonna say anything to the kids and we'll see if they notice there are ducks in the pond & beds.

Good to see you back Daniella. I hope its not those other kind of mites making your leaves pucker. I pulled off the ones that looked like that and the new ones look normal so give it a try. They may just be getting used to being outside. I'm like you I don't know when I will ever be finished planting. I got sick right when I needed to be doing it again. Grrrr. We are passing this dang virus around just like a bad brug but with people, lol. Thanks for the pic of the ladybug larvae wildflower. I never knew what they looked like. I miss my hens and chicks, waaa. I think after seeing yours they were in too small of a pot. I will get another one and try again.

Kristy, I don't think the pot size matters. Maybe you had them planted too deep? They basically sit right on the surface, they have very shallow root systems. That's why the squirells have such an easy time stealing them. My mom has had hers in a tiny pot for years. So yours should have been fine, only thing the small pot size will do is restrict how much they spread.
I wasn't feeling well myself, still not today..hope you feel better real soon!
What other kind of mites?? You mean those microscopic mites like Barry had? O I hope not! I did pull off the bigger puckered leaves, but the new ones seem to be coming out that way too, :( When they get bigger if they are still that way, I'll take them off too..
We'll see what happens.

I worked in the veggie garden yesterday and got half of it
planted then it started raining so will have to wait untill
it drys out again.

Welcome back! It sounds like most of us are behind with our gardens. I'm beginning to think it's impossible to ever catch up. You might want to google assassin bug and see if that's what you are squishing. If that's what they are stop, they're beneficial. There's a stinkbug larvae that looks a bit like what you are describing also. If that's it keep squishing.

I googled, and no, they weren't assassin bugs, or any kind of stink bug larvae. I went back out and found them on more plants, so I sprayed them with soapy water..dead on contact. There were huge black aphid things, and then tiny round lookin lil things, maybe the larval or nymph stage of the bigger ones?

I am having a hard time with skeeters in the lotus tub as well. I bought the dunks, but they aren't working :(

Welcome back Daniella! You know, we have the 99 cent stores here that ALWAYS carry all these succulents. Problem is that I don't like succulents! I am originally from Arizona, and do not like anything resembling cacti, succulents or any rocks!

I did buy some Venus Flytraps at the 99 cent store, but they don't look that great now. I think I have to feed them bugs or something. My plan was to put them out in the yard so they can catch their own bugs, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Once I received a trade that had these dark bugs that looked like aphids, yuck. I used the SafeSoap and it did kill them.

Thanks El & Rigo! I can't sleep..see this is what happens when I dont work in the yard..full of energy at midnight.argh! Neighbors are fighting very loudly, & Now DH is out on OT so I def won't fall asleep.

El, I Wish we had a place like that around here! I wanted to buy DD a couple venus fly traps, she's been wanting them for a few months, but HD wants $8 for a teeny tiny lil one. I remember when I bought mine ..o geez, I was gonna say a few yrs back, but its more than that.. More like 15 maybe 16, o lordy, lol..I only paid $2.99, if that. My cats ate them though. DH who was BF at the time bought me a bunch more, and the cats ate them again.
So what did she get last Sunday instead? Mice...both the older kids got 2 mice each, I made them get females, and it turns out one of DD's is prego. greeaaaat!!! yes, that was sarcastic, lol. Venus Fly Traps woulda been cheaper.

Rigo, I like that ponytail palm! I have been tempted to get one myself every time I see them at HD, but I know my cat and the puppy will destroy it. Thanks for sharing..if I can't have one at least I can look at yours! :)

I saw the venus fly traps on a garden show. They said put the pot with them in it inside another pot and keep water in the second pot. I didn't know they needed to be wet all the time. Duh, they are a bog plant but really cool. Good luck with the mice and cats, lol. Nice pony tail palm. Those are cool too. Well back to bed folks. I can't seem to stay awake today which is very unusual for me.

All those meds..rest and take it easy. More rest, the faster you'll feel better. Plus you dont feel like crap when you're sleeping, lol.
