O.T. my heart goes out to S.C.

They just had it on the news, about the tornado's in Greenboro S.C. I hope every one stays safe. it's terrible. man the house's tore down, S.C. all you guy's I really feel for you. Elizabeth

Everyone stay safe. That storm is still spinning off tornadoes.

It was Greensboro NC. We had 4 confirmed tornado's touchdown last nite in the Triad Area. One death was attributed to the tornado. The storms were all over North Carolina last nite, but the triad area was the only place that I know of that had tornado activity. My family and friends are all safe and suffered no damage. EddieDewayne had part of his greenhouse crushed but that was all of the damage he sustained and lost no plants. The Farmers Market in our area was heavily damaged and one of the farmer's was unloading a 25 foot trailer when the storm hit. The trailer ended up in the top of a tree with no sign of the plants. There were a lot of folks who had considerable losses.

I'm just thankful that it wasn't worse. Thanks for caring!

There is a condition called euthyroid sick syndrome. Any person who is sick, including those with serious heart diseases, can have a thyroid panel that looks like she has hypothroidism. But it is not a true hypothroidism, and when the underlying disease is corrected or treated, the thyroid testing returns to normal. If your daughter has euthyroid sick syndrome and she is placed on thyroid supplements, she could die due to the effects of thyroid hormone on the heart. That is why they did not want to place her on supplements yet. It sounds like they do not know what is wrong with your daughter's heart yet; otherwise she would not have gone home on a monitor. Once they figure that out and get her treated, she should have another thyroid panel run. Then, and only then, should she be placed on thyroid supplements if she is truly hypothyroid. My husband went through a similar incident lately, except they knew what was wrong with his heart at the ER- premature ventricular contractions. It's basically harmless although it annoyed Dave so muh he couldn't sleep and it made him very uncomfortable. But his regular Dr misinterpreted the ECG and thought he had escape beats and a slow heart rate. Then he ran a thyroid panel and the only abnormality was a SLIGHTLY high TSH, so he placed Dave on thyroid supplements. The PVCs got a bit worse over the next month. Dave had a full cardiac workup, checked out fine. During his followup with regular doctor, he mentioned the irregular beats were worse and the doctor doubled his thyroid dose. Now I had been telling Dave for the entire month that he wasn't hypothyroid and his dr was smoking crack or something (I'm a vet student and animals get the same heart diseases and thyroid diseases as people, and they are tested the same as well). Dave didn't believe me until the dose doubled without even having the results of the thyroid panel back. So he stopped taking the thyroid meds. Miraculously, the PVCs slowed down considerably. The thyroid panel turned out normal. 6 months later he had another follow up with a thyroid panel, and after having not been on supplements for 5 months the panel was completely normal. By this time, the PVCs stopped completely. So his thyroid supplement made his PVCs worse. Luckily for Dave, his only problem was the PVCs which are completely harmless and not indicative of any heart disease. Otherwise the mistake the doctor made by putting him on thyroid supplements and then doubling the dose may have seriously harmed or killed him. I hope your daughter gets diagnosed and treated soon. This is a guy with serious issues -- The transvestite fetishism is, at least according to Ann Landers, not the end of the world. If he isn't gay and isn't transgendered, and if it doesn't totally gross you out, her advice has always been to try to live with it. Think you can? The Mommy stuff is a bit more complicated. So if Sonny moves out, Mommy will be all alone and abandoned? He's going to have to deal with that and learn to build a healthy relationship with his mother. And until he does, I would not get my hopes up.

Honest? I'd change the paint color. It's not right. Is it horrible OMG the neighbors are going to call and report you to the HOA? No. But it's not right. There is so much potential for the house to look stunning -- instead of just okay -- it almost makes me tear up. I'd be looking more closely @ the following: - There's too little contrast. I think it could handle more color and/or more drama on the B&B. Only question is could you. As for which paint colors specifically, I dunno. Have to think about it. - The arrangement of windows and front door has me drooling. OMG. Something fabulous and bold for the front door color. A dark purple or something like Red Miso from Martha Stewart at SW. - Maybe it makes more sense in person, but I wonder why the garage peak boards were run horizontally only with out the apex detail like on the house. The different widths of siding and boards doesn't flow together well -- a different paint color, however, could change that. The reason I question it is because the windows on the house are so well-done and so balanced and that side of the house is telling a lovely story of symmetry then your eye meanders over to the garage and it's a little like WTH. The garage peak dimensions look identical if not pretty darn close to the house peaks. Mirroring the vertical/horizontal boards on the garage seems like it could be a good idea --- from my seat in the virtual peanut gallery. - I'm concerned that you said that you didn't like the color of white that's up there with the siding. White windows doesn't mean you're obligated to match the trim to that window white -- unless you want to. If you wanted warmer, creamier trim you could still do that and leave the windows white. - Don't feel rushed. If someone has to wait a day or three for you to decide about the repaint, it's not going to kill them. If you need more time, tell them you need more time. (I definitely wouldn't ask, I'd tell, but I'm pushy)

I am Sorry Eddie had damage but stuff can be replaced.. Thank God They are alright!! Eddie.. You are in my Prayers as well!!!

Glad to hear everyone is safe so far. This is crazy. There's been tornados almost daily. They touched down not too far from here the day before NC and they're moving around AL and GA today. This was the 3rd time in a year that a tornado(s) has touched down near here and we never get tornados. We normally get very little severe weather save for the occasional tropical storm.

i agree with karyn. we never get tornadoes and this year we have had several touch down .

the piedmont triad farmers market was hit hard . a direct hit to that area and the damage was massive . many buildings in the immediate area got structural damage , including a few at the market . it took out a 30 foot cinderblock wall , and every building has tons of crack lines going down the walls. hundreds and hundreds of trees are down . trailers thrown over 400 yards from original packing area . huge commercial freezers and refrigerators thrown hundreds of feet from their location too. it was like a bomb hit and destroyed almost everything .

friday a group of us went to help clean up. when i arrived i could not believe my eyes . police everywhere , red cross , ems vans, and tons of tv stations . just amazing !! we could not save many of the farmers plants , i would guess a 98-99 % loss. all we could do is shovel everything in a huge pile and let the front end loaders remove it. really a sad day for the farmers . everywhere you looked trucks were pulling trees with ropes and tons of heavy equipment was moving trees . if one tree was down , 300 were . just unbelievable !!!

we did get the market back up and ready for the farmers to sell this weekend . due to structural damage , huge parts of the market were off limits . many of the farmers had to use a gravel parking lot .

saturaday i did not sell my stuff at the market. instead i decided to help some of the farmers hit the hardest. i went in at 9am and left at 6 pm . i could not help them all but i did get around to 5 farmers. i did everything from bag plants, water , to help give instructions on growing them . i did find one thing out abouut myself, i truely do not know a thing about annuals .lol

i want to send special thanks out to everyone that volunteered their time to help save our market , especially the customers who came in and worked hard, and the red cross for helping feed these people and for doctoring up the cut i received cleaning up.

my prayers goes out to all the tornado vicits in my state and across the country .

What a horrible experience. I pray everyone is safe. Eddie, that was wonderful of you to go help out. That's what it takes to get things moving in the right direction, i.e., to jump in and assist where it's needed.

My son does disaster reconstruction (floods, fire, etc) and Friday was a nightmare day for him. The situation in several neighborhoods was as Eddie described at the Farmers Market - police, EMS, with the hard hit areas quarenteened. My son had to sign in at a Fire station just to be allowed to enter the area to work.

Unfortunately, they are predicting more severe weather today thru tonite with the possibility of more tornado activity. What a mess... everyone stay safe!

Im fine here bUt I am Sorry to all in GA, AL, And NC who are battleing this freak weather. I hope all is okay with everyone. Belonings can be replaced Lives are what really matters. Great job helping Eddie. It will pay off a hundred fold when you least expect it. That was truley nice of you and I am sure greatly appreciated.Brandy
