What's wrong with my daturas?

I have several datura inoxia that I grew from seed around the yard. They are in different beds but showing the same problems. Other daturas are unaffected and are about to bloom. They were both fine until 3-4 days ago. That's when I noticed the wilting and curling leaves. Now, they're starting to turn white. We've had a lot of rain this spring but both are in beds that normally drain well since they are sloped. Are they salvageable or do I need to pull them? Thanks.

Weird. Sorry but I have no idea. Maybe you can find something on the ABADS site if someone doesn't come by soon with an answer.

Boy I have never had anything like that happen to the Dats I grew last year or so far, this year.

Hope you figure it out and share what is wrong with them. Would be interesting to know.

The yellow color with the veining is classic chlorosis, which is almost certainly caused by an iron deficiency. I don't know anything about Grow and Bloom, but check to see if it contains iron. Potash won't hurt anything, but I don't think potash is your problem. A potash deficiency usually shows a fairly uniform olive drab color without the veining on the hyacinths. Potash deficient hyacinths usually have really long roots as well. Nitrate won't hurt anything either. I don't think you really want to add phosphate because of the algae risk. Add iron. Find a chelated micro-nutrient mix, like Fertilome Liquid Iron. You should see improvement within a couple days. Go ahead and add some potash too. It won't hurt.

soil looks bone dry .. where is the mulch.... spray was a waste of money and time were they root bound from the pot... did you untangle the roots.. did you amend the soil. Kasha, that looks like the one I originally had in my garden. I just remember the scent being almost intoxicating around dusk. I vowed to plant them all around my deck and screened in porch, only I obviously got the wrong seeds. The photo is the one that had the fabulous scent. I'm thinking it's like yours...

I dont know either Token...I am sorry they did that..I would like to learn along with you...My daturas last year had mottleing in the leaves...They are hard to grow here in WI...Barb

There's brown patches developing in the leaves. Looks like a virus. The petunias and nasturtiums in that bed are doing fine. The other dats aren't showing any signs of problems yet. I have a few volunteers. I plan to dig the largest one out tomorrow and replant this bed. I need to see what's in the soil. Some weird white fungus has shown up the past two days with all our rain.
