I have the below Iochroma that I will trade for an equal size rooted Double Orange Brugmansia...I lost mine :( Right now it's in a 10" pot and I will cut it back to fit in a large priority mail box...It will also be washed bare root. I may also be interested in any other color double brug, but prefer double orange. Trade only at this time. Let me know :) knotz

I've had the most success rooting cuttings in water in low temps. I know it makes no sense but that's what works for me. Daytime temps anywhere from the 50-70's and nighttime temps into the 40's. I've had success rooting cuttings in warmer temps but usually lose the plants a few months later for unknown reasons. The cold weather rooted cuttings have lasted almost a year so far. I'll be chopping back my iochromas in about a month. I'm letting them go dormant with the brugs again. I used to keep them growing year round and last year was the first time I allowed them to go dormant. They came back just fine which surprised me. Karyn

Any success yet for anyone getting Iochroma x Brugmansia seeds or seedlings? If one can get seeds but not seedings, embryo rescue culture could be tested. On the 2n x 4n question with offspring from the same species, it can potentially work and you get a sterile (non seed producing) 3n Triploid. Thus, not making viable seeds. As long as they propigate well from tissue culture and/or cuttings, one can propigate them. Adult plants actually can be many different levels of polypoldy, such as 2n, 3n, 4n, 5n, 6n, 8n, with odd number offspring being sterile. With interspecies hybrids it gets complicated.
