It's beautiful. Do you know what kind of tarantula it is? Some make very good pets but their hairs can be irritating to your skin.

sorry no Idea. It would freak me out to have a spider as a pet. They are lucky I let them live these days since I started gardening the natural way lol

but it was interesting on how it tried to fight the board off lol

Got lots of big holes in the front yard and when I cut the grass and went by. I swear I saw one go back in there and hide real fast.

You are so brave Lucy. I never would have been able to take a picture of it. Just looking at your pix gives me the creeps! I spent one summer in TX with my aunt when I was about 15, and there were lots of scorpions where they lived. I saw one climbing up the wall close to the bed, and that night I had nightmares all night long!

Here I thought I was brave reaching out to "pet" the garden snakes that are warming up in the sun here. A tarantula!!!! Yeeek!

Oh Lucy, Lucky You! Its so cute and furry! :) I get the big black slick ones with a yellow belly. They make the most intricate webs. Just think of all the bad pest it will eat for you saving your flowers, then smile and feel LUCKY. haha

Aren't those spiders cool. I think they're called black-and-yellow argiope. Your flying squirrel looks exactly like my sugar gliders. The only difference is the sugar gliders are marsupials. I'm glad the cat didn't seem to hurt it too bad and it certainly seems friendly.

Oh I can handle the spiders, don't like them on me, but me dont do snakes AT ALLLLLL...Icky Yucky!!!..I can't even look at pictures of them in a book or on TV or nothing!!!

No, I was'nt hurt just all wet where she had carried it around. I think it was in shock at first. I took it in and wraped it up, it was really little so I have had to play mommy. I have had it since the night before Easter Sunday. It's a hoot now! Loves to play and it is really friendly, we have bonded :).

I love the baby squirrel. We used to have a little pet flying squirrel at school and it was a hoot. Lucy you and Kylie keep those tarantulas at your houses. I picked up a rock at her house and found one. Nearly crapped my pants. I might have one too. There was a small snake pulled into a hole in the ground by something and it was dead with its tail sticking out of the hole. Spiders and snakes at once are enough to give me a heart attack.

Snakes are a gardens best friend and they're pretty. They are probably more scared of you then you are of them. lol

Karyn I have been listening to you for a little of a year now. I believe it is because of all you say how beneficial they are for your garden, lets me overcome the fear and me killing them.

so seeing how things go in my garden...I must say the beneficial gritters out way the bad ones. Actually, there was not a animal yet that tried to hurt me....KNOCK ON WOOD
