HEh. I am amused by this thread, too. But, hey, when you're harvestin', there are no stupid questions! I am put in mind of some friends who actually called in a plumber after being unable to get rid of the bad smell wafting from their sink. THe had scrubbed it like crazy, flushed out the drain with bleach, etc. but still a putrid smell wafted up and they were sure it must be from sewage. WEll, the plumber arrives, takes a sniff, and points to the African violets sitting on the counter behind the sink. "Are you sure it's not those?" Yep---some rotting leaves on the violets were smelling up the whole area. Anyway, my diganostic advice would be to separate tomatoes from basket in order to try to tell which was the culprit. Put the toms in something else and put them in a different room. If the basket room still smells the next day, figure something (hopefully not someONE!) at the farm peed on it. Return it, pitch it, or wash it with bleach. If the tomato room smells, then sort through them looking for "leakers" as calliope so aptly puts it. Rinse off the unbreached ones. Good luck! Zabby

how about i give you the stupidest answer ... dig a freakin hole and find out ... jeez ... water your hosta.. and water a clear spot to the side ... when you think you are all done ... get the shovel.. and dig the clear spot ... AND FIND OUT HOW THE WATER MOVED IN YOUR SOIL ... if your 5 minutes.. gave water down to a depth sufficient for a happy hosta.. you win ... if you come to find out.. you barely got one inch deep.. you need to apply more water ... makes sense??? it took me 2 years with my drip iriigation.. to figure out.. that NO ONE could tell me.. on my soil.. in my yard.. how water moves thru MY soil ... in my irritation.. as i was sulking back to the house cursing.. i seem to recall hitting myself in the head with my shovel .. when it dawned on me.. and i will yell? ONLY I CAN DIG A HOLE IN MY GARDEN AND FIND OUT WHERE THE WATER IS GOING ... thereafter.. it was pretty simple to figure out how long to water ... to get it deep enough for the hosta to appreciate it ... there!!!.. thats your glittering jewel of wisdom for the weekend.. lol ken ps: the only dumb or stupid question.. is the UNasked question.. i for one.. appreciate a quest for learning ... shows you are thinking.. and thats what keep you going ... dont you think ... now go dig a hole ...

Make sure you check the depth of the cooktop/rangetop and the clearance requirements of both the top and the oven. You might also need to build a support platform if it's a slide-in cooktop (aka rangetop). Sealed burner units might be "thinner" so you'll have more flexibility with those typically but then you give up nice open burners. BTW, I had to modify a cabinet to make more room for the wall oven which wasn't a huge issue. The problem was the cabinet doors were then too big and no way to cut them down to size since they are paneled and oak finish. Looked around and found that Home Depot carries several brands of cabinetry and I was able to find one that was a very close match in style to what I have. Gave them the dimensions I needed and a week later I was in business. In the 9 years since that was done I have not had even one person notice that those two doors are not original. I even asked a carpenter friend of ours which doors are different and he could only narrow it down to 3 sets because they looked newer. Look around, you might just find you can do what you want pretty easily.

OMG, these stories are priceless!!! My co-workers probably think I'm nuts as I sit here alone in my office laughing my behind off! First off, I'm not sure anyone can top KTer Dottie's Bathcapades! Here's my story... Back when I was in my mid 20s I had long flowing hair which I liked to keep off my face. Didn't like ponytails, too old for pigtails and I grew up with headbands of all sorts, needed something new. So I find a cool pair of sunglasses and start wearing them around to do the job. It became somewhat of a trademark for me so I wore them a lot. Many months down the road, perhaps a year or two I notice two disturbing dents on the top of my head. I make an appointment with my GP. He examines them closely, asks all kinds of questions, examines them again and finally tells me he has no idea what it could possibly be. I thanked him for his time, slid my sunglasses back on my head and walked to the door. All of a sudden I hear "uuuh Jodi, could you come back here for a minute?" He takes my glasses off my head, examines them, points to the two nose bridge thingies and didn't have to say anything else. I turned bright red, he was laughing so hard the nurse came in. I turned brighter red and left ... with my sunglasses in my purse. LOL Right now I'm in the creating stages of some potentially dumbest moment. For a year now we hear a beep when we're in the living room. It is not constant and there is no rhyme or reason for it. I've removed everything I can to eliminate possibilities but so far am at a complete loss what it might be. I'll report back to this thread when I figure it out, because it's bound to be something that is very obvious. Jodi-
