Hi, Ive also been having some trouble out of my Adenium Obesum. But as I am looking through some of the suggested caused and cures. I am finding it a little hard to compare since there are a few differences. I purchased my Adenium Obesum about a month ago online. It arrive healthy, about 2.5-3" tall green and healthy. She was obviously grown from seed since she has the infamous fat trunk. I done a little research before purchasing the plant. I got to know it like dry arid conditions, fast draining soil, and PLENTY of sun light. I also read you could train Adenium Obesum to become indoor tolerant. My potting medium is bonsai potting mix, and sand; no course or dead plant material as it is highly susceptible to root rot. Since it has arrive I placed the plant in indirect sunlight but still pretty bright. After about a week or so I noticed a bit of yellowing in a few of the leaves. Come 2 days later it has spread to a few more, a few days later the first yellowing leaves begin to wilt. Then fall off. You get the idea. So now its a month later and I have a most of the original leaves, but a few have fallen off and most haven either yellowed or becoming yellow. I know my water is draining fast, the only thing I can think is light, or the water I am currently using (tap) is not kosher with my Adenium Obesum. Please help, I want to see my little girl thrive. I know Adenium Obesum are such BEAUTIFUL trees, which is why I purchased it to begin with. The situation isnt too dire, but until I get some help I have her placed outside my window in direct sunlight most of the day. Btw I am watering her about once-twice a week. Im still figuring out what she likes as far as water. Remember this is a baby not some of the beauts you guys have posted. Thanks once again, Stefan

have you checked out e-bay. there are adenium seeds there for sale from 10 to 1000 lots. I have ordered from a U.S. based seller (where the wild things grow) and was satisfied. but the real deals come from thailand and i have been afraid to order . A blog warned me that the colors they sell do not exist and have been photochopped to hook buyers. I would love to hear from any member that has ordered from them.

Brrian, you should check out the adenium/desert rose forum. Ltran on there is in Houston and has the most amazing collection of big DRs. I've seen triples offered here and there but never quads. There's a link for a place to order online below. George, I went to Joseph's nursery in Pearland and they had a great selection (in June) of DRs, even doubles. I was told they only bring them into the sales areas when they're blooming though I saw lots of giant ones in cachepots that weren't. Definitely worth a call. Water less! In fact, in FL, you may need to get it up under something..porch eaves etc where it can get good slanted sun but not get rain or dew etc. especially when the rainy season starts. Also, I would get all that mulch off of there and replace with coarse gravel...you can use cute river rock or glass rocks/pebbles etc but make sure to get everything away from the base and trunk or it will stay wet and eventually rot out. Also, these flowers could be getting wet from dew or just the xtra humidity in the air then the sun hits them and they turn brown and mushy. So moving the plant may help. Thrips also may cause bud drop and are very hard to see. I used to grow all kinds of cacti & succulents on the West Coast and in the desert but FL is a whole different ball game. Some things are more tolerant than others. You might also want to post this in the succulent section due to it not being an actual rose and more succulent-like in its care.
