I had been on strike at work the last 2 days, lol. I complained so much the past 2 days about my chair at work hubby took me to get a new on and a keyboard tray for the desk. He plopped in my chair and broke the hydraulics so I was sitting way down low and typing on the keyboard on top of the desk and hurt all over. All that yard work didn't even make me hurt like this so now I know for sure what was doing it since I was off last Thurs. Fri. Sat and Sunday and felt good other than normal sore muscles. I found the most comfortable chair with good cushion and back support and it had no price on it. It was right with some others that were $249 and I knew there was no way I could get that one. I said what the heck I'll ask so the manager came and I asked him to check the price on that nice cushy one and I must have looked pitiful because he said it was on sale as of tonight for $125 instead of $249. I could have kisses him right on the lips, lol. I sure hope this helps. It has a 3 year warranty against tears and all the hydraulics and moving parts so I am very pleased. Now the next thing will be some kind of headset so I don't have to hold the phone on my shoulder with my head sideways while I type, lol. It only took me 3 months to get this so maybe in another 3 I can get something for the phone thing, lol.

That should make a huge difference. You should be able to find a headset for the phone anywhere and they aren't expensive. Try Home or Office Depot. I hope your back is feeling better soon.

Ok, ok..I am givning in! I am on the prowl for either those birds or a couple of green singing finches. Jojo, you just made me realize how much I miss hearing the singing of birds in my home.lol It made winetr go by so much better than the dead silience in my home. I think I know who named those birds..lol. Such cute names that only a kid or two can come up with. I would love for you to raise them along side of us, all the way to the brood, hatchlings, and babies. I would love that Jojo since I have a thing for birds. I think if you read my message in it's entirety you would understand that this suggestion is an alternative to Phillip Hollsworth’s idea to not buying gas on a certain day. One that “makes much more since” Perhaps I should have made my point clear that, In my opinion, one should only buy gas from their local chains and small mom and pop stores rather then the big companies like Exxon. Yes, it is a bit lofty to think that the price of gas will go down to $1.50 a gallon . And yes I know I cannot do anything about the cost gas companies pay for their oil. However it IS in the power of the consumer to influence the cost WE pay for gas. If it became a popular and wildly practiced trend for Americans to purchase their gas from small chains then the big guys would be forced to lower their prices in a desperate attempt to gain back business. And at the very least we would be putting money back into local economies. Something most Americans do not think about and is a very real problem in our country. As a resident of Maryland who currently lives in Annapoils but has spent most of her life in the Baltimore metro area I am very aware of the mass transit system. And forgive me if there my husband doesn’t walk the 50 miles it takes for him to get to work In the DC metro area. And no there is no direct line of public transit from Annapolis to DC or is their a proposal for one (it was denied about 10 years ago) For him to take the bus to the train to another bus would be 4 hours out of his life a day. And yes he is on a carpool list waiting for others going his particular route matching his schedule. While public transportation is great for some it is not a practical option for everyone. Especially those in the Baltimore/ DC metro area. I will not take my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son to the bus stop in Annapolis. I have been held up a gun point. I find it insulting that you would write a post such as yours without even reading mine. Perhaps it is my fault for simply reposting another’s bulletin. But I found the information worthwhile and something comparable to my beliefs. Despite the fast that it was not written in the most concise way I figured the members of this forum would also appreciate it. Perhaps it is something that would make complete sense to the people here. Something that they just haven’t thought about before? Who wouldn’t want to support small businesses? Who doesn’t want cheaper gas? Who wouldn’t want more money going back into their community? Money that they need to spend anyway. Gas is a necessary commodity. We can do what we can to reduce our reliance on it but the need will not go away. I know many people (especially those here) would rather buy goods from mom and pop stores. May people don’t because we cant afford it when the big box stores sell things so much cheaper. How often it is that something we need and want is actually cheaper from a small chain!? I don't know about the e-mails. I began with recognizing your intentions. I told my story and opinion because most people don't think about that any more than I did until it was made very real to me that it is a socioeconomic issue that is largely ignored. I tried to not make it personal by asking you questions, but since the tantrum occurred I will. Do you know the financial status of the child's parents? You didn't know her age so you couldn't have known them that well, right? So you have no idea whether she will get what she wants or not for Christmas and if she doesn't get what she wants she might think it was because she was bad. That's wrong no matter what Christmas spin you want to put on it. We are in an economic downturn. Period. The company I represent just had a lay off. Last week! Granted it was only 12 people, but 12 people that have families. I am guessing there are a lot of children out there right now that aren't going to get much at all for Christmas and we have a lot of movies, songs, store santas, and unwitting older people that make it a whole hell of a lot harder on the parents that are already stressing on not being able to give their children what they feel their children deserve because movies, songs, store santas, and unwitting older people are making children believe that if they are good they will get gifts like every other boy and girl. No matter how good a child is, their Christmas gifts are based on their parents and other family members incomes. Just because a person has good intentions doesn't mean the person did the right thing. Maybe not enough of you on here have been poverty stricken to understand what Christmas can actually mean to poor kids when the better off kids come running into school after Christmas break bragging about all the great presents they got. Just today I heard on the radio that the number of families that have signed up for assistance for their childrens' Christmas has doubled compared to last year while the number of charitable gifts has dropped. Do the math. A lot of parents out there on Black Friday were looking for deals because without those deals there will be no Christmas for their kids. Are you sure you weren't talking to one?

My plumaria expert says that blossom booster or anything with such a high middle number is useless. In fact some of the threads by Al will agree. I use "Dynamite" 13 13 13...Even numbers right across the board. In fact most plants don't like such a high middle number, because your throwing the abilty off for the whole plant to be healthy, even the colors of the leaves by forcing flowers on your plants when you don't have to. How come plumies flower from the ground outdoors withou someone throwing so much middle number on them? In the ground, they are getting an even amount of nutriets to sustain over look, vigour, and health. I will send you an excert of why the middle number is useless. The "dynamite" has worked wonders for me. It is slow release along with micro nutrients and a well balanced fert. Just some excerts... "Whatever nutrients are available in excess, will be absorbed by the plant to a certain degree, and in some cases, this may lead to toxicity or even symptoms of shortages of other nutrients as toxicity levels block a plant's ability to take up other nutrients. Too much nitrogen will lead to excessive foliage production and less flowering. Too much potassium or phosphorus will not lead to ill effect, but will show up as a deficiency of other nutrients as it blocks uptake". "What about the "Bloom Booster" fertilizers you might ask? To induce more prolific flowering, a reduced N supply will have more and better effect than the high P bloom formulas. When N is reduced, it slows vegetative growth without reducing photosynthesis. Since vegetative growth is limited by a lack of N, and the photosynthetic machinery continues to turn out food, it leaves an expendable surplus for the plant to spend on flowers and fruit". "The fact that different species of plants grow in different types of soil where they are naturally found, does not mean that one needs more of a certain nutrient than the other. Do they make a wireless kind Karyn? I have to run in and out of the office on the phone a lot to check things on cars or to ask parts questions. I have a blue tooth one for my cell phone. I wonder if they make a regular blue tooth capable regular phone.

LOL...Glad you got the chair.. I have this crappy chair and I keep threatening to go buy a new one and hubby say's Damn girl GO!!! but I hate to shop and I have to drive 35min to even get to a store to buy one..I would rather dig a ditch than drive somewhere or shop...

Lol, I could have gotten one sooner but getting him to go with me to load it up was the problem. I hate shopping too. I wasn't about to pay for it out of my money either when it was for work so I took a check from the shop account, lol. I can't wait to put it together tomorrow.

Glad you got a good chair. I have bad neck and shoulder problems since someone slammed into me while I was stopped at a red light 12 years ago. I am very picky about chairs, pillows, etc. too since then! The wrong ones can cause migranes from all the tension in my neck.

Yep, I am like the princess and the pea about where I plant my behind. For some reason sitting on a hard chair makes me hurt all over. I am still paying for my bed. I had to finance it for 5 years but I can finally sleep wihtout waking up limping and the suburban seats are comfortable so I can finally drive more than an hour without not being able to walk when I get out and I have to take my own pillowa with me when I go somewhere, lol. Now I guess I need to get out of my comfy bed and get my butt to work and check out my new chair, lol.

Well you see MIke I can shop for Brugs in my clumpy clothes right next to the Frosty Beverage Box and never even have to leave home..BUT if your drivin I'm in!!!LOL

This is so funny. DH called me a couple of hours ago to tell me they're getting rid of some of the old furniture at work and did I want a different office chair. What's up with office chairs today?!! He told me they had a leather one that was "Pizza Hut Red". I told him what I have is fine but if he wanted it he could keep it in his garage...

Lol, I like to shop online too but not in the store. I don't blame you Michelle for not wanting Pizza hut red, lol. The new chair is the bomb. Only thing is now that I am sitting at the right height the keyboard holder won't fit under the desk. It hits me in the knees, lol. I wonder if they will let me take it back with it all put together?

My computer chair is an old chrome bar chair with red vinyl seat & back. It has been the only one the kids haven't ruined. They make the arms fall off & spilled something sticky that never dried on the seat of one. My 20 year old likes to sit on the back of the chair with his feet on the seat & makes the frames loose. I gave up. I have them in the kitchen too. My computer is in the living room which is blue so there's my decorating statement (combination Goodwill & curbside rejects) lol.

Lol, I just have to have comfort. I don't care so much what it looks like. It just so happened to match the black leather love seat I got at a yard sale so the office looks nicer now. Its hard to find something with a washable surface but I can't have fabric at the shop. It gets way too dirty and dusty even in the office. I paid $20 for the loveseat so hubby let me get it a few weeks ago. The old one was army surplus and and all torn and split. The customers like having me around, lol. I even upgraded him to computer last year so I can look up work orders without having to dig thru old boxes of files. He loves it now but resisted at first.

Kristy, With 8 kids, I gave up on comfort. Comfortable means it breaks & you sit on the floor. They broke them or made them so loose it wasn't safe to sit on them. I have been using this one for about 2 years. I DO care about how it looks, I just can't help it. Maybe when the kids all move out (if I live that long) I can have a real computer chair again.
