that's what I thought. Because I got FOUR cuttings instead of the ONE bare root plant that I had ordered.

It does not matter. I rather say only good things about a vendor , when I name names like the seed sprout nursery I would buy from in a heartbeat again.
But I learned my lesson. I just think it is another think traiting cuttings.........but I am not for *buying* them. It is ok. I am over it. It just hurts looking at the drooping poor cuttings.

If you are trading cuttings from a hobbyist or novice, it could be they just don't understand what the term 'bare root' means. (maybe they put the emphasis on 'bare'. LOL!

Bare-root plants are shipped WITH roots, but without soil, to keep the weight down on shipping. But the roots must be kept somewhat moist with a damp paper towel or similar.

I did not even know that brugmansia could be sent bare root. I get all my dayliles, and other lilies that way, but then have to soak them before planting. Can we do this with brugmansia? It would really save on postage. Barbra,

dave_in_nova lol about the BARE........but it was someone who sells these and knows what they are doing. I rather go for oxmyx's thought about a mix up in orders. but then the other persons order was just like mine except as a cutting lol. Funny what a day and some nice people can change. Now I can even lol about it. Barbra that is interresting for my future *shipping* plans ;-) So I am listening for the wonderful hints on this one hopefully coming

Barry that is what I am thinking too now that I looked at the site I got it from again. Between the cutting and the plant is only a 2 dollar difference. So I DID write a e mail just now to say that I am not that happy with what I got.

Call me crazy!! But there is a big difference between a cutting and a rooted plant..Like several months..LOL If they are selling Rooted plants for $2 more than a cutting I wish you would give up the name just to check them out..LOL HMMMMM!

Maybe they ran out of rooted plants, and figured four cuttings would make you happy instead. You should be able to root them. They wilt in transit, but they perk up pretty quickly. Cheer up..when you get lemons, make lemonade. Now you have four plants instead of one!

I think they will root for you. The firm ones for sure. I am sure since I know who the seller is that it was a mix up. He will make it right if you aren't happy. The two big cuttings you got were probably bigger than the rooted plants anyway so maybe you will get lucky and have several for the price of one like they said. It is warm enough here that you can put them outside on the concrete for bottom heat, lol.

I agree. I feel confidend that I will get 2 to root out of the 4 at least. But the whole point was that I did not have to wait........4FR to have roots and that just is not the fun. Watching them on top of the tall freezer making progress is not as much fun as laying in front of them and seeing another leaf grow lol
