I just keep asking everyone for there address over and over again. I can't keep up with anything and don't worry about it, lol. I am the most disorganized person in the world so don't ask me, lol.

I am not very organized myself, but 2 file boxes a notebook and a 3 drawer plastic chest ( that my son used to use for toys,) sure stopped the complaining I was getting. Hope it helps. Linda

Hired help. lol I am the world's most unorganized and messiest person. If left to my own devices my home would probably be condemed. It drives DH crazy.

Marian, do you have a scanner?..What I do is, scan important paper work and burn to a CD-RW (re-writable) that ends paper laying around.

Oh Carmie if you only knew how computer dumb I am you would have never asked that question. LOL I can't even get my pictures off my camera and download them to send to other people. LOL I have to go to Wal-Mart and get them to put them on a disk for me then "SOMETIMES" I can send them to people.

I'm old and forgetful as all get out. That's another reason I keep all the stuff so I can attempt to keep up with it. Unfortunately for me I can't stand looking at it much longer.

My desk drawers are all full and running over, the side of my desk has all those flat rate boxes from the post office so when I need one I don't have to drive all the way to town 15 miles one way to get one. And the list just goes on and on. Then I have a small file box that is full of mags, books, letters, and bills/receipts for plants and so forth.
I've also been known to delete files from my computer and not even know what I was doing.

So I don't think that would be of much help to someone like me. I do appreciate the heads up however. I'm afriad burning a cd would be a whole lot like brewing tea. I forget about it half the time and the pot is empty. LOL Kind of like my brain at times.

store it in those little plastic shoe box thingies. Label
the boxes, and pull out what you need...whenever:):).

Well thanks for all the different ideals. I see a trip to Wal-mart in the near future. I'll need to pick up a daily planner, and some plastic shoe boxes. Of course I'll need to get a disk from the photo department with my photos on it so I can send some to some of ya'll. Oh boy this is going to be so much fun. LOL I'm still thinking about just tossing everything in the trash and starting all over. Either that or take the advice a good friend gave me. Don't keep any of it and just keep asking people over and over for their address to send stuff too. LOL

Try Gmail it stores everything. Has document storage, calendar, plus a ton of other free programs. I email myself reminders.

Marian, I'm surprised that no one has thought of the perfect solution, and that is to go to Walmart and buy some folding tables and move all your clutter from the desk to the tables and PRESTO you can see your monitor. And as the number of tables expands, I would suggest that you line them up end to end as the line meanders through the house. That way you only have to look up or down the line of tables to find your stuff, instead of looking on tables scattered thru the house.

Another brilliant solution is to organize the stuff in the garage and take photos that you can transfer to your computer monitor. That way all your stuff can be right at your fingertips, so to speak.

Another stroke of sheer insight just occurred to me--instead of putting plants on your inside plant stand, throw the plants and dirt out of the pots and put your stuff in it and place the plant stand right next to your desk for easy access.

And yet another solution of pure inspiration just now occurred to me. Perhaps it is not the clutter that's a problem but rather your REACTION to the clutter. Many have found a few shots of Jack Daniels can dramatically reduce Clutter Anxiety Syndrome.

Or, you can do like the rest of us and put a filing cabinet next to your desk.

Buy a bigger house. Or get OCD. When mine is acting up, like when I'm stressed, I take advantage and organize EVERYTHING, the freezer is in alphabetical order, when I'm not stressed I make a mess. And enjoy it. Then, bam, stress and I'm cleaning cabinets at 3 am because they are messy. This time of year I just go out in the garden and ignore the clutter. Albert Einstein was a notorious slob. As long as stacks of newspaper don't fall over & kill you don't worry about it. It just shows that someone lives at your house that enjoys life and is an interesting person.
