I've got a ton of wild ferns I could dig up and send you! I just don't know how well they'd survive the shipping. but they do go dormant - I had one that my friends were positive died last fall, and sure enough, fiddleheads two weeks ago. now they're HUGE. lol.

what do you think? should I try it for you? I'm just excited by the prospect of FINALLY being able to give back to the GW community. LOL.

I just took all my potted elephant ears to my sister but I'll see if my friend that I got them from has anymore. The ones I have left are in the ground and I doubt I can get hubby to dig them up, lol. I so have something else to send you as soon as I can take a day off to mail stuff. I have several people I need to get things out to.

I have clumps of white bird of paradise but they don't have any pups right now. I will keep an eye out for any new pups and can let you know.

I just sent a whole bunch of bromeliad pups to someone in a trade. I'll see if I have any more. If I don't have any now there should be some later in the year. Are you looking for broms for sun or shade?

Karyn, I'll take any kind of bromeliad pups I can get. I have plenty of sun and shade for them. I really want to hang a bunch in the trees, with some of the other plantings I'm doing on my little "PATHS". I should have known you would have just about ANYTHING I wanted. LOL I guess I'm going to have to hug and kiss all of you on the forehead.

Rialira I'd love to get some of the ferns, shoot just dig them up and wrap the root area in some wet papter towels then put the root part in a baggie or something.

Josh, I've never seen a white bird of paradise but I'd probably love to have one of them too. Thanks for the kind offer.

Kristy, if you can come up with some elephant ears fine, but don't go to too much trouble to dig them up. And for goodness sake don't ask your husband to do it. He'll want to shoot both of us. LOL I'm jealous of all the fish ya'll have been catching. (grin) Nice photos.

Now I must include here that yes, I want all of the above but please note that I will have to wait till our next social security check comes in to pay the postage on this stuff. Ya'll know I'm good for it, but when one doesn't work....you don't have ANY EXTRA MONEY.

Thanks Kylie, ya'll can just throw in whatever you want to in the packages. I'm sure I'll be tickled pink with EVERYTHING. Shoot, Saturday is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. I've been wanting one for over 3 years now. I've never seen them anywhere here in East Texas. Trust me I've looked. LOL

Poor Marian. I will offer to pay you postage on a box from Kylie since she can send the EE's.

Marian do you have any Asian or Hispanic markets near you? If so you can buy taro or malanga roots and plant them. They look just like EE's. I've even grown purple ones from tubers that I got at the Korean market and they are dirt cheap.

Marian, I have some bird of paradise. I planted orange and white last year in 4 inch pots and the tags got lost, so they are tiny ( they were neglected) and i don't know which color they will be, but if you want one, just email me. Linda

ok marian, we actually just dug up a handful and potted them up in my room, lol. we can dig up more, it's a lot easier this time of year cause they're just little fiddleheads, lol.

do you want the little ones or the HUGE ones? I'm talking either 8-12 inches, or a couple feet. lol.

I have to include the ENTIRE root system, which can be pretty heavy, so I don't know how much these are going to cost to ship. but we'll see :) let me know which "size" you want!

Oh my goodness am I on a roll here or what? First of all Ria by all means send me the smaller ones so you don't have to pay alot of postage. Besides they will probably ship and tranplant better if they are smaller. Maybe I can get more smaller ones if you find some place on the side of the road to dig them up. LOL

Karen-gardenpaw, I would dearly love some of your ferns too. As far as I'm concerned I can use as many ferns as I can get my hands on. So by all means I would be very pleased if you would share some of your ferns with me too.

Karyn1- I've never been into one of those markets but I guess there is a first time for everything. LOL What the heck is malanga roots??? did you by any chance have the opportunity to check and see if you had any bromeliad pups of ANY KIND? I'm so excited about the project that I'm working on and I can't wait to get everything and share the photos with everyone a little later in the year.

I tried to download my camera to my computer and I'm still having problems doing so. ( I'm so computer stupid/dumb it's unreal). I wanted to share some of my blooms in the iris beds with ya'll. I know alot of you would be blown away. Unfortunately for me, it may take me a week before I figure it out. Either that or I'll have to go to Wal-Mart have it put on a disc and then send them in emails. That's about the only way I know how to do any of that. LOL

Kylie-I can't wait till you can go to the post office and pop that puppy in the mail to me. I've been drooling every since all of you have said you would be more than willing to share with me.

Great News Karen, I can't wait to get them in the ground here around my new pond. Things are really beginning to take shape around here. I've had several people over to tour my gardens. IT's alot of fun, but it's also alot of work. Ya'll would have all laughed at me today.

I think I told ya'll I have plants planted EVERYWHERE and then some other places too. Some so far off I had to find a source to water them. Well we took a 30 gallon drum and made me a big watering rig out of it with it working by gravity. The thing would get half empty and I'd have to get off my little tractor and lay the end of the hose on the ground and get it lower than the drum so it would let the water out. I got all the exercise I need for the rest of the month getting off and on all day and doing deep knee bends. LOL

Marian. I the cannas I got today were great! I will have enough to share with my sisters too if the one sister that coming down doesn't hog them all, lol. Remind me later when its done blooming and I can divide it I'll save you a pup from the queens tears now that I know what it is. I didn't know it was a bromeliad. The only other one I have looks different. Its just a baby but doing very well in the house. Its one of the only plants I refused to let hubby kick out of the house, lol.
