Gonzer, to grow Caramba like that, what kind of light do you give it? Just bright light or some exposure to sunlight as well? NO food?! And does the plant looses that colour during winter. My Caramba looks very much like Mike's and it also comes from Michael. But I must say, I haven't found the knack to grow bills yet. I nearly killed my Fantasia, but I have a De Nada flowering at the moment and the colour is not too bad!

Thanks for the shot Gonzer. I guess I could move it into a spot with a bit of sun and see what happens. But like I said, I kinda like how it looks now so why mess with it?

I like the "green" look too Mike, don't get me wrong. After having the majority of my Bills growing in varying degrees of sunlight, all of them now are under cover of corrugated fiberglass sheets. This move has intensified the markings. It's great the way the sheets diffuse the sunlight without the addition of shadecloth.

Here's a picture of my Bill. 'Caramba'. I've had it now for about 7-8 years. It's always been in the same 4" pot. It makes a beautiful little clump. I grow it in high light, 40% shade in summer and full sun in winter. Don't ask me what the flowers look like, though. I've haven't had it bloom yet!

Bromeliaddict, that is a beautiful clump & amazing that it hasn't flowered. You must have very good conditions. Our ambition is to collect a few of these beauties but we have to wait until John builds the conservatory.

Forgot to mention,that Mike's plant seems (to me) to have white markings on a red leaf,(with the exception of that one center leaf)...and Paul's plant seems to have red markings on a white leaf.(Well,mostly)
So,what is the leaf color actually ?

Like stripes on a zebra.... I think it's proper to say that there are white spots on red leaves. The white streaks as they appear on Mike's plant are fairly typical for a 'Caramba' specimen.
