Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) in my garden

*Jumping up and down for joy*

I saw my first Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) this morning!!! DH comes in the house saying there are three butterflies in the garden this morning. Me thinking it's the Cabbage White (Pieris rapae) who have been hanging around laying eggs on the Nasturtium. I asked, what color are they? He sad white and there's an orange one. I said is it a Monarch? Well, he has no clue so I go out to investigate, lo and behold it's a Gulf Fritillary on the buddleia. Close by I have passion vine growing like a weed. I run in the house grab the camera (still in my PJ's) run back out and it's gone *argh*

Butterflies and Moths of North America website does not record that species in our county.

Going out to look for eggs :-) *whoohoo*
