hdd, Define 'bulletins'...If you mean 'Journal of the Bromeliad Society' subscriptions, there are 6 copies per year, published bi-monthly,starting in Jan. with a new volume # each year. Articles are submitted from authors world-wide. Loaded with information,a must for bromelfhytes. Bob
If you join, in addition to receiving the Journal you'll have access to the seed bank, get discounted rates at the World Conferences, and various other perks that you may or may not want to use.
HDD - If you belong to a BSI affiliated Society, there is probably someone who knows about the recent offer from the BSI President. A first time subscriber to the BSI will get not only a year membership, but will also receive the last 6 issues at no additional charge. Single domestic membership is $30. I'm a BSI Regional Director and we were sent this notice about 8 weeks ago, so check with your local society or the membership secretary to confirm this offer. By the way with this last issue, the BSI Journal has gone all color and the new editor has changed the format so it is "hobbyist and scientist" friendlier.
What questions, hdd? Maybe we can answer some of them.
There is no phone number because there is no central location. The BSI is run by members throughout the world. The current president is in California and the Journal editor is in New Zealand, but this is constantly changing. If you have questions about the Journal you can email them to editor@bsi.org , or if you want to contact the president, it's president@bsi.org and there are similar ones for other officers, committee chairmen, etc. Those emails remain constant no matter who is currently holding the position.
