I haven't seen that many dbl pinks in person, just in pics and those can be so deceptive. Of the ones I've seen I really like Peanut (which I don't have and want). In pics I love Pink Perfection (sp?). I saw a new pink double advertised, a double L'Amour which I bet is a nice bloom. I love the original single L'Amour.

Yes, Karyn, that is why I am asking because I know the pics advertised probably show atypically perfect blooms. That Pink Perfektion really does look nice in pics, that is one I have my eye on. Are the blooms large on Peanut? I'll have to do a search for the double L'Amour, I've never heard of that one. Thanks

I just got the double L'Amour so I am anxious to see it bloom. I have to say my favorite pink is any that I own.

Peanut has small blossoms, so does Sam. I've heard people have trouble growing Peanut- I sure did, mine bit the dust last summer. Sam is a cutie for a pot and blooms alot. But small.

Try Day Dreams or Pink Perfektion, like Karyn said. Run anything you find by us here, one of us on this forum is bound to have grown it and the feedback is free; not so a less-than-perfect brug!

Well, the specific ones I had in mind that I am thinking about getting are Pink Perfektion, Daydreams, Adeline, or Mon Amour de Muriel(sp?), so if anyone grows these I would like to know what they are like, or any others that impressed you. Thanks for the responses so far, they are really helping out.

I bought all 4 of the ones you mentioned, they are all growing in tropical weather, as well as New Orleans Lady, I should be able to answer your question this fall, which one is the best. Barbra

I also have all the pinks you mentioned but have doubts that the Pink Perfektion is really what it's supposed to be. The others I'm sure are correct. I got the Day Dreams from a friend. Her trees were huge with loads of blooms and the others were from reputable sellers. I should be getting blooms on all of them this season, I hope!

Karyn I have pink perfektion but it never bloomed last year. I just put it in the ground with about 70 other and hope it blooms this year. This was alot of talk about it being a brug with disfigured blooms atc a couple years ago.
If it blooms well for me I will let you know

I purchased Daydreams last year and have grown it in a large pot outside all winter. Early on was able to make a rooted cutting from a branch growing from the base of the plant. Because of our mild winter here on the gulfcoast it has had a couple of blooms which are beautiful and have a nice fragrance in the evening. I also at the same time purchse the single pink Cherub, which though it has grown faster, hasn't yet begun to bloom

Sometimes the distorted blooms can be from the heat and humidity.. Miss B Havin blooms but does much better when the temps are lower.. I have PP and am looking forward to seeing how she handles the heat..

Hi there, I am new to Garden Web. I am in love with brugmansias and am doing research to plant my very first! I am also in love with double pinks and am curious if anyone can advise me on a good one to grow in Oakland, CA, which has a Mediterranean climate slightly sunnier than San Francisco. (Rarely freezes, rarely hot). I'm looking for a light to medium true pink (no orange or other tint) with a great fragrance. I don't like the doubles with a lot of separation between layers. My garden is mottled shade. Would be grateful for any advice on varieties, sprouting seeds, other care tips etc. Thanks!

I think a very dependable double pink is the Day Dreams. It's easy to grow and a reliable bloomer, not picky and you have the perfect climate for just about everything. That being said I haven't grown many double pinks and just picked up a few more over the winter so they haven't bloomed yet.

(I am bored this morning, would rather be at home working). I have purchased all the ones you guys are talking about. They are doing good. A couple are already budding out. The leaves on some of them are kinda funny looking but I think that is from the temps in 80's during the day and 50' and 60's at night. Very strange weather for us here. I have Bambino blooming and even though she is not pink she is cute, little tiny double blooms and a soft yellow color.

I got DD in a trade last fall, it's still a small thing but growing well. Had no idea it was a double pink so I'm excited. Always looking for brugs I don't have or doubles that will grow on the Texas Gulf Coast. So I'm really excited as this one seems to be growing well on the coast.
I'll be on the lookout for others now.
