New growth on overwintered cuttings

I've been checking on my brugs cuttings and plants that are being overwintered in my crawl space, void of any light. Today I watered them and there's new growth coming from several of them, they're pale yellow in color. What are recommendations for this situation? Should I leave them as they are, or remove them till they're ready to be put in an environment with light? And, by the way, I've been wanting to start dats from seed. I tried a method of using custard dishes with water and a "tad" of meat tenderizer. I gently nicked the larger of the dat seeds. I did that last evening (Sat.) and it's obvious already they're ready to be put in soil. I just wanted to share this method as I feel confident it would be effective with other hard-shelled seeds.
