Does anyone know anything about Sweetness?
Comments (3)beth - thanks a lot for providing information about the rose. It is helpful to know the size the bush got for you and I am also pleased to hear that it blooms and repeats well. Thank you also very much for posting the two pretty photos. I especially love the first one! They show the rose quite well! The flower shape reminds me a little bit of Angel Face... Anybody else out there who has experience with that rose? I really would like to know, if it is fragrant or even has a strong fragrance....See MoreKnow anything about "Yummy Orange" sweet pepper?
Comments (2)Yummy is a dwarf growing "super sweet"/snack pepper. It was bred to be field grown without having to be staked (therefore saving on field/farm labor). It's good and quite sweet (moreso than most bells)...and though it's small (about 2ft) it's rather productive. The peppers can be a bit small (2"-ish) though there's a decent mix of 3"+ ones which are not uncommon to find. In my experience a 50/50 mix of 2"-ish to 3"+-ish ones is not uncommon. They're best when fully ripe rather than green as far as flavor and sweetness goes. Though they're not useless when green you're going to get a lot more pleasure out of them when fully ripe....See MoreAnyone know anything about red ivys
Comments (30)We get a couple of weeks each winter when the wind comes from the east and temperature drops to -10C or so. Otherwise I think rainfall and temperatures are similar. In the same hedgerow, there are perfectly normal dark green ivy plants but there are a significant number of red and purple ones. The hedges are pretty old so there has been time for the individual plants to cross breed I think that for the most part the veins are light like yours, varying between green and yellow. All these varieties are very pretty and I am going to try to build up a collection of them. One of the things I shall experiment with is the amount of direct sunshine. I have the impression that this can affect the intensity of colour in the leaves. Here is a link that might be useful: Nature notes...See MoreDoes anybody grow or know anything about Ausonius?
Comments (0)I've had him about 3 years, it's a Lambert Hybrid Musk 1932. Seems to be a slow grower but healthy. I can find very little info about it on HMF & not much more from the Vintage Gardens catalogue. Per HMF it can climb & Vintage has it topping out at 4' or less. Any help would be appreciated.
