Some blooms so far this season....

Here are a few pictures of what I've had bloom for me so far this season.

Evergreen, a new bulb that didn't put on as good a show as my last one, taken in the very early morning with the low sun shining in (we all know she isn't this color).

Chico, all pollination attemps failed on a rooted bulb! I guess she wasn't in the mood.

Lima there might be some takes on this one..

and Lime Flair..small flowers some with more red than others and a short stem which is nice. No pollination attempts on this bulb.

a new Exotica..smaller flowers than usual but this happened on my older bulb also on it's maiden bloom..

and of course I've posted Pink Diamond before but I thought I'd just add her to the list..

and a group photo of the 3 that are in full bloom currently..with Cherry Nymph standing tall in the back..

I also had 2 scapes on Blossom Peacock that were very pale and another scape on it's way..I didn't bother to take her picture..

Thanks for all the nice comments! There have been daylilies I have not been able to get a good picture of because of the weather, like Primal Scream and Margo Reed Indeed both had their FFOs yesterday. This morning, there are a few others that look to have their FFOs, but are not fully open yet and may not be before the storm rolls in. Growgirl, I hope you have better luck whereever you are in MI this morning. Maryl, the echinacea is Hot Papaya, it's my favorite. Unfortunately, the Japanese beetles love it too for some reason though! Since the older blooms are kind of fluffy, scraggly and dark colored, the beetles (and the damage) are not that noticeable. I just go by and knock the JBs into a container of soapy water every couple of days. Statmam, you're right, those are garden ornaments/art... they are 'alliums' that Gardener's Supply sells/sold, Everlasting Allium - I have several of them, just gave four of them a fresh spray painting this spring. I love them.

Hi Quinn! Great to hear that most of your plants and hoyas are alive are no worse for the slight neglect this winter. Congrats on all the new growths and vines that are showing up! That is such a nice thing to see. My best surprises as far as growths are my small Patella has a couple of new vines and new leaves are slowly emerging. I'm very excited about my Elliptica as well and my Sp. square...both growing nicely! But the best surprise of all came yesterday when I noticed that my sigillatis that had problems this winter(vines started declining and drying up) is finally showing some signs of recovery...I found some teeny tiny new growths on some of the vines! I hope this one recovers as its one of my favorites! Keeping fingers crossed! Good to have you back posting again!

In the very first shot I posted above are all adult males . I took that photo on july 7th and then those males moved on . So contrary to what a lot of people think the males which always leave first start the move on Many people think migration doesnt start till mid august , mid august is in my opinion would be peak migration, the time when the count is highest. Then everything is downhill from there , at least thats how it happens in my location.

Hi Monica, I'm doing good. I got a part time job that keeps me busy and away from my Hoyas ! Almost all of them bloomed so far. I found out what the problem was, ME !! Now that they are neglected, I can't stop them from blooming. I will post pics as soon as I can. I work weekends now. Your plants look so pretty ! Good growing : ) Marco

Nice Donna. Funny how the lighting had such an impact on color of the first bloom. At least it wasn't blue!

Thanks everyone!

I had ordered 2 Cutting Edges and 1 Lime Flair but the first Cutting Edge was a Lime Flair so I think I have 2 hopefully not 3 because I really wanted Cutting Edge. The 3rd bulb does appear different; thicker scape and larger bud so I will hold out hope that I get at least one!!

I wonder if I prefer Evergreen with less flowers like yours , mine had so many that I only could see a mass of green but couldn't admire the flowers.
And nice winter lightening.

As I look again at my pictures I feel I must apologize for the messy stuff all around my house...My husband is the first to admit that I'm not a good house cleaner and I have to agree....

They are absolutely beautiful. I just harvested pollen from Neon Rose and Evergreen and as soon as Charisma, Sweet Lillian, Sumatra, Tinkerbell, La Paz and Ruby Star flower...I'm a gonna play matchmaker!!!
