stinky-gardener, you are so right about Kohls and their return policy. I bought a piece of luggage in Colorado and flew home with it to Ohio and it broke on the first use. I took it back to the Kohls in Ohio without a receipt and they looked it up in their system and just could not find that exact model, though they had the same brand. After several different people getting involved, I sat there scouring my brain and said to them, "You know, maybe I didn't buy it here, maybe I bought it at another store." They said not to worry, exchanged it for a brand new suitcase and sent me on my way. When I got home, I found my receipt, I had bought it at Walmart!

I was travelling in an undisclosed location and I heard a local couple discussing the blooms. The husband with a very small pet dog said: "This is weird. That tree is still blooming." The wife said: "I bet it is because of our freaking cold weather this summer." The blooming habit of trees like hybrid dogwood really baffles the daily people.

Why isn't my whole comment up on the billboard dammit? I guess I meant it's original native range, now wiki says it's mostly native to the southeast, but bonap has it listed as being native in Minnesota, except for 1 southern county where it's considered 'present and exotic', so this OP's plant would be more northerly, so technically this species DOES belong there (from an original native range viewpoint), but it doesn't belong 'there' because Dandy hates it. Is it the bristles Dandy? Of course it's a north American native so it can't technically be called invasive, can it? I believe every person on the planet has the right to grow it if they so choose! I might give it a whirl myself, but I already have quite a few awesomw native legumes that are more local ecotypes. My opinions don't come into conflict with my wallet, so I can pretty much stick to my ideals.
