Haven't posted in a while, wanted to check in

Been busy winter sowing so haven't said hello in a while. All my brug babies are growing like crazy and I can't wait til summer. Thanks again to all of you enabled me with cuttings. I still can't get any seed to grow so I am saving the rest to try outside this spring.

It is always great to hear that one is just not able to come check out the forum because the garden work keeps you from doing so.

That is the most relaxing work....even if it really hurts sometimes or makes a mess when we bring it into the living room lol

As a previous poster commented "some times there's good advice on the old threads". Yup, and perhaps in the meantime while you're reading all those old posts you're missing out on some relevant, up-to-date good advice on the newer threads.......I say "read those old threads, but please don't make any new posts/comments on them.....PLEASE!"

Oh no, (blush) I have LOTS of long needles upstairs in my sewing room. Why didn't I think of that? Oh my,,,thanks for the reminder !!!!! This is the mix I use: equal parts Miracle Grow and Perlite. And I find it works pretty good, so I don't think it is the mix. I just think it is that darn algae that starts the process. Although I can't account for the drying of the wicks. Now that confounds me. Weird. I am going to start replacing the wicks as soon as I go UPSTAIRS and get my looooong needle. lol. Thanks for THAT reminder !!!! Perle, you should have seen me trying to soap my one hand to gently "wash" the wick hanging out of the pot! And then rinsing it. But that doesn't get the algae off. I though it would be ok,,,,but nope. Not so much. And I usually managed to pull the wick almost, if not all the way out anyway! sigh,,,a real exercise in futility !!!! Rosie

Sherry, I don't know why I get so much re-loom. the instant starts early, and a lot of plants seem unable to quit. Walter Kennedy had already put up scapes three times when I decided it was enough and snapped its fourth round. I usually have as many as half of mine to rebloom...They stagger it, and now I am down to only about four every day, Today, was Joan Senior, Butterfly Season Exquisitely subversive, White Eyes, Pink Dragon and South Seas. I the meantime I planted four new ones tis morning in posts, and then got four more in the maisl. I want to shift gears, but they won't stop. kay

Oh Chena, really that long? 20 days?

I've got the crabbies from being inside for so long. My cabin fever is TERRIBLE.

It gets better when I go visit the brugs in the green room.

But it just makes me want to plant them that much more.

Glad to hear from you kathi!Winter sowing can keep you busy, I did winter sow last year but nothing this year.Well tell your brug babies to hold on a little bit more cause spring is almost here. With my brug seeds I have noticed that after they come up and on any given day that we have had warm temps I put them outside for the days that it is warm and this helps them so much more than just light from inside the house. Good Luck with the rest of your seeds.

Greetings Kathi good to see you again. I've not done too much wintersowing this year. I should but have not had much time. How fun...I hope you have great success.

Dweeb, March is the toughest month for me too. All my southern friends are out enjoying there gardens, it's still always cold and snowy here and I begin to get a little depressed. Too bad March has to be such a looonnng month. ha ha.
