Hey girlfriend! Welcome back. I misssed you and your bill for the Pink Diamond...lol! It has straightened up it's scapes now and will be blooming soon. And so is my Zombie. It took foreeevvverr for it to put up it's scapes. I can't wait to see it up close.

I'm glad all went well. Now don't do too much and listen to your body: it tells you what you can do, and to wait with other things. Slowly is the best ( and not the easiest ) way.

Phew, the last I posted, I got myself in trouble. I spent way too much time up and around and was sentenced by my home-care nurse to the recliner to get the swelling in my leg and foot down. (DAMN!) But I am back now, even if spordically. I miss my friends and so happy you have all been thinking of me. Maria-Pink Diamond had sent up another scape and flowers and I was able to cross it with Happiness and Candy Stripe. And YES dear soultan, I am getting another scape on San Remo and my Elvas is putting out a fat budded spike too! YIPPEE, if I don't get a tree this Christmas, at least I will have all these blooming beauties and new seeds to share with everyone this spring! OK enough excitement for today, back to my recliner. Sending HUGS to all of you!!

Cindeea, Recliners are a God-send. Now what you need is a laptop computer you can use while reclining. I bought mine as an emergency when sentenced to recline for 3 weeks for a back injury a couple of years ago.

I had a call from my knee clinic to get all my personal info last night and suddenly it made my knee surgery imminent and scary, where as before it was only an idea and I was quite cavelier about it! Now it is reality and I will be meeting the surgeon a week from today. We will have to be off early to catch a ferry and get past the city to his office by 9 AM. I do not do "early" in the winter, LOL. Good thing my hubby is driving me! So I will know more about the time schedule after that.

I have plenty of bulbs coming on though to see me through as my ABC order only arrived yesterday and there is still a Wayside two-fer package out there somewhere where with Lugwig Dazzler and Promise in it. Evergreen is on order also.

It's wonderful to see you posting Cindee! We all miss you, and miss reading about your fabulous flowers and yard! I'm wondering how Dennis is coming along with the dining room chairs to match that glorious table, and how all your orchids and other lovelies are doing!

Yes, you absolutely need a laptop with a wireless connect! That's the one thing we do have... lots of technology! Larry has made sure we have two regular computers, both built to the hilt, and a laptop with wireless and blue tooth GPS for traveling... I just got an Ipod for Christmas, and Larry just bought his own Ipod Nano from eBay... believe it or not, he bought it for under $25! It was supposedly not in working order, but he knew how to fix it, so now he has a working Ipod Nano with tons of extra attachments... I'm so glad he's a computer geek!

Lizalily - You have Evergreen coming??!! I'm so jealous!! I wanted that one earlier, but then Wayside was sold out... by the time they got it again, my bulb budget was completely depleted for the season! I guess there's always next year... plus, I can see how yours performs before I spend that much money on one bulb! Please say you'll post photos of that one in particular! It looks so awesome in the Wayside catalog pictures!

I'm just happy that you're doing good, Cindee, and that you're really taking it slow and easy... we do miss you, but we can wait! I think we'd all rather have you come back in good working order!! Hehe!

Liza, if you want more bulbs, I am planning to order from Nature Hills, and they have a free shipping special over $75, so we could have all sent to me, then I could send it forward to whoever would like those varieties. I am getting Vlammenspel and Ferrari from them, since I never received the Ferrari that I was offered for exchange. I wish Jodi could join this order, but I understand that her weather conditions don't allow her to receive bulbs anymore... I wish I could reach Cindee about it though. I will send a package to her soon, so I could put a few more bulbs in if she wanted. And the same goes for you, Pax. Look it up. If you'd like anything from that site, let me know asap. I think Maria will not be interested, since she has everything that is on that site... Am I mistaken? :o)

I ordered more from ABC last night to come with the replacements for the 2 damaged bulbs, and I also did an order frm Royal colors so I Think I Am tapped out now until our summer one. Once We get into March the excitement will be daffodils then tulips here and then on into the summer flowers, lilies and anuals an perennials, dahlias, roses. It is November through March that I need AMaryllis therapy. But thanks for offering to join the order.

How are the Nature Hills folks' amaryllis? I think I ordered some dahlias from them last year and was quite disappointed with the withered tubers I got...some without even growth buds on them. I could be mixed up with someone else but I would like to know the quality of the bulbs you get.

That's a good question, Lizalily... I've never ordered anything from them before... Soultan, how are the products? The prices are nice... and they have 2 that I'd love to get... Orange Sovereign and White Peacock! I don't know if I'll be able to get them... it depends on when the order will be placed... I'm sure I'll be a bit strapped for cash at Christmas! I have children and grandchildren to buy presents for!

Jodi, if you wish, you can order with me, of course. I am planning to order this week. By the end of Friday. I want to get the package before I leave for a week out of State.
I guess, we have to take chances. This is the first time I will try Nature Hills, and when I order, I will write a memo to them that I expect healthy, nice bulbs. If they don't deliver it, I just refuse the package and send it back to them on their cost.

Awwww, Cindee! That is the nicest thing I have heard all day! I think I am having some anxiety but I am trying not to dwell on it. Seeing you recovering so well makes me feel better about it too. I know it is the right thing and the right time to do this, and I do have great long term goals. Just being able to walk my new puppy, (Josephine), I will be getting will be wonderful! She is not conceived yet, but I am buying a Gordon Setter field type pup in the spring...already sent my money to reserve her, so we can walk each other, LOL. My other one, Bracken, died 9 years ago and she was the love of my life! I will visualize myself running with the grace of a setter, and the joy of life! (I never could run even as a child, so it is like the question about playing the violin after surgery, LOL.
