If it is not quite the way you want it to be or go. Well here is a little help...enough for everyone to touch your own little good luck leaves.

I have a dry shade bed which gets some late afternoon sun, and some of the things that do well there are hostas, foxgloves, astilbes (which I planted before knowing they needed more moisture! But they seem to do well here anyway, luckily for me!), lady's mantle, lilies, bleeding hearts, columbines and primsroses. Small spring-blooming bulbs and also daffodils do well too. There are also some heucherellas and anemones, monkshood, and cyclamen, although these are in the shadier end of the bed. Groundcovers in this bed include vinca, sweet william, and chrysogonum. I do need to do some supplemental watering in the heat of summer, maybe twice a week depending on heat and rainfall, but most of these plants are doing well. The sun hits hardest the side of the bed with the hostas and chrysogonum, and that groundcover is really doing well. I think I have more problems in this bed with roots than with the hot afternoon sun. I amend the soil every year also with compost and shredded leaves. Good luck! :) Dee

Roses are the foundation of my garden, mostly antiques and some reproductions (aka Austins), along with a small selection of older hybrid teas for cutting. It's actually been a pretty good year for them. Since it has been so dry but I have watered, they have been reasonably healthy, mostly a bit of PM, and not too serious. It probably helps that I have removed the less happy roses for several years to make room for other types of plants -- less of a monoculture. Three climbers on the back fence will probably go this year to make room for more grapes. We are going to be eating a lot of grapes! Rosefolly

Has anyone had good luck with any portable tvs?

I've had several portable tvs (like 5"-7" screens) - the Action tv did last a while. I need it mainly for the car. The problem with the Action seems to be the cigarette lighter connection but I've bought two or three connections at Radio Shack and have the same problem (different brands, too). It would power up, or it takes a long time to power up and then if you barely tap the tv or hit a bump, it goes out. I paid $115 for a Trinity and it didn't work well. Very frustrating. So I bought two others and could barely get reception, if at all, returned them. Just bought a Sylvania at Best Buy for $30 and it was great the first couple of days and when it DOES get a picture, its a good one. Since then, sometimes it comes on, sometimes not, and sometimes it powers up but without a picture at all. This one does seem to take bumps easier though. I was wondering if any of you have had good luck with a particular one and if you used it in a car. I don't want one you have to have installed. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thank you. We really expected to be on the market for much longer. We used a very experienced agent who got the listing out to just about every venue there is. It was her suggestion to go with the 3%/4% commission split. She also had very good web skills and savvy, something I think is critical these days.

Dorothy I love it too. I am so glad I brought some in for winter growing. It is getting such a pretty color as the sunny days increase.

Barb I already found yours when I prepared the front flowerbeds last week. Getting ready to mail them off this week.

Mike I am sure you can feel all the well wishes we are saying for you!

Theresa I think I exeeded the amount of plants thanks to all of you too. The Collage would have just itzzy bitzzy tiny pictures on there lol

But I am looking forward to this year and all the added plants.

Just alone all the brug seedlings growing. WOW: Today is my diary day so I got to go and start taking pictures and writing the progress down.

Weather not to nice so this is a great activity for today

That crud has made it across the states but not too WI yet...Deb My sister told me she saw it on goodmorning america this morning it happened yesterday at 11am your time. They are investigating what it was. Hmmn area 51 all over again. You all watch out for aliens. Lol I am glad they picked texas to land and not WI.hahahhaha

What a cool plant Lucy. Are the leaves as huge as it looks or is that a close up? I had some kind of oxalis but it was taking over the flower bed and John didn't like and threw it all away one day when I wasn't home since it was in "his" bed, lol. It was small and green but had pretty little pink flowers that covered the top like a pink blanket.

Barb, funny you should mention that. rofl It was only a few months ago when there were reported UFO's sightings in a town about an hour away from me. Once again I missed it, but there was quite a bit of commotion then. I haven't noticed any green men running around yet. lol

Kristy your green Oxalis you shared with me are really starting to grow and multiply in the flowerbeds already. Yes the leaves do get huge compared to the green ones. Do you want me to find some for you?

Deb they learned to disguise themselves and are not the green little guys anymore lol.

Lucy, you mean they can disquise themselves? So that's what they mean when they say there's a lot of aliens here in Texas. That's why they need to have Green cards...ROFL

Yes Lucy I would like one if you have extra. I wish I had moved some of the green ones. I had intended to save some of them but when we dug them all out to build the new bed he got rid of them.

Hey Lucy there is a couple new co ops on DG for lillies and japanese maples ending today. Better go check if you want any of those. The japanese maples are $20 and the lillies are cheap too, lol.
