I wish everyone a good morning and a great day.

Got this one blooming but at this time I am to lazy to dig through all the tags and books to find THE tag that tells me what I got there lol.

All I know it is a perennial waking up with flowers. I guess I am a perennial also. Because I am still trying to wake up!

Yes I must be a perennial. I come back here day after day. Year after year lol

Good morning, Lucy.

I've no idea what it is you have there, but I may be able to help diagnose the waking up problem... you get up too darn early! Its early for me, but I do have the time-zone advantage. Just came into the office to check on a DVD printing job that I let run over night. Sure enough, the printer ran out of ink, before the job was completed. Heading home for some breakfast now, and to catch up on some of these posts, before coming back to work for the day. Thanks for the morning smiles. Go have a cup of coffee.

SHe's a beauty! How could you wanna hurt a deer? Even though they taste pretty yummy, lol. Don't get me wrong, I am all for hunting, as long as you do it right, and are doing it for food. I guess I still like them cuz they don't eat my gardens, lol. Only had 1 in the yard here so far, and that was just a run thru. But ya gotta remember..the animals were here first..we are on THEIR land, invading THEIR homes. That subject alone really ticks me off..I dont even wanna get started. I'll never forget the 1st time my son saw a dead deer my brother got..that poor lil boy cried his eyes out when he realized it was dead. I dont even wanna talk about weather..grumble grumble..

Congrats Dorothy for guessing the correct flower. You must really know your flowers. Lucy, what a great close-up shot. You are getting the hang of that new camera. You can even see the pollen granules. No one would have been able to guess the flower if I had taken a close up with my camera, it would have just been a yellow and pink blob. LOL Deb

It was given to me as Hawaiian air plant or Cathedral bells. Mine bloomed in the garage well away from the light overwinter and my blooms were pale green globe looking things. They might have had some color if they had not bloomed where it was so dark, lol. It grows very easily. I took cuttings and left the mother one outside to see if it will come back. Yes John made me go fishing to get my mind off of things but they weren't biting very well so didn't catch much but the sniffles, lol. I have to work at the shop by myself tomorrow since he has to go out of town. Stop by and visit if you aren't doing anything.

count_d, I purchased my plant from Tony at ExoticPlantsPlus.com the home of Par O Bek Orchids! http://www.exoticplantsplus.com/ thespirals, I keep it growing up by using the metal chain of the hanging basket. By moving some of the leaves to the inside of the chain and letting the plant then rest against it, the plant grows more upwards. Once it gets past the metal chain I have large s hooks which I then use orchid flower spike clips to clip the nep vine to the s hook. You do not need to cut your nep. I do it when it reaches the ceiling which is 3 to 4 feet from the hanging basket. I would not cut it till you have new growth at the bottom of your plant which you say you do. My first time cutting the plant I was about 12" above the soil for my cut. Cutting the plant usually causes more basal shoots to form which will make your plant bushier, as they grow. Also usually a node below the cut will start to grow. Seeing the effects of cutting the plant from the first time, the second time I cut it was much closer to the soil, but I had several new basal points growing which were several inches tall by then. You end up with several new plants to trade away if you try to root your cuttings. Below is a link to rooting nep cuttings. This is the way I do mine and have great success, only have lost 1 cutting. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today and if you will please keep my daughter and her classmates in your prayers today. Today is the one year anniversery of the sudden death of their drama teacher. This is also a big week for them, the week before opening of their show So they all have a lot on their minds today. And in the words of their coach "I hope you had a good day yesterday and life is treating you well today." That is how he started his class everyday.

Good morning all! Lucy, it is scabiosa. I have some growing, and have seeds for the real dark one (almost black), but I keep forgetting to sow those seeds! I wanted them so badly and when I got them, they remain in the packet.

Mary, your dd's coach sounds very positive. Tell us more about the show?

Eloise, he was a very positive man. No matter what the child's skill, social level, or how much trouble they had been in at school he welcomed them and always found something for them to do and made each one of them feel special from the kid that painted the stage floor to the lead actors. He was very well respected in the theatre community as well as the schools (he had taught at several schools in his 22 years of teaching).

Right now the kids are working on "Harvey" remember the old movie with Jimmy Stewart and the 6 foot invisible bunny? My daughter is playing Veta Louise Simmons, the crazy guys sister. She is so excited this is her biggest role to date. She will be going to college next year and wants to major in theatre or communications/ journalism. She has won several competitions in the category of TV news casting and thinks that may be a possible career choice for her. This is an exciting time for her, the world is at her feet!!! Although I am glad that I think she has scratched being an ariel acrobat off of her list of possible careers. She had even researched possible jobs (other than the circus) and that was really scary that she had done that much research into it. I think the next 4 years are going to be exciting.

Good Morning Lucy & fellow gardeners...

First of all...i have no idea what you have there Lucy, but the flower is a pretty color...

Ughhh...I HATE mornings when the alarm clock doesn't go off & you suddenly wake up over an hour AFTER the time you wanted to get up! At 7:03 a.m., I had a few choice words rolling off...now that I am back from driving my youngest son to school, this coffee is sure tasting good! I'm sure a smile on my face is sure to come... :-)

Thanks everyone for stopping by. Giving me answers and things to worry and laugh about.

But now it is time to get of my butt and enjoy the great outdoors.

I just wanted to let you know that I DO READ EVERYONES replies. But I have the strong feeling that with all the work coming my way outside, my postings will become a lot shorter. I know some will say...THANK GOODNESS ha ha ha

Trust me, sometimes I look at my own messages and say that to myself ha ha ha

Good morning Lucy of course I think its the wrong morning but that is a pincushion flower. Mine have been still blooming all winter and the hummingbirds like them.
