So Hubby knows a guy who works for the city parks & they dig up the tulip bulbs every year & plant new ones. So my honey came home with 80 this weekend, but the ground is frozen. I was thinking of starting them in containers but I'm not sure how to proceed. I tried doing a search on the bulb forum, but I didn't find a clear answer.
Here are the 2 options I see - potting them indoors, giving them some time inside to root, and then putting them out in the snow. Or potting them up & putting them right out.
And then once I put them out, where do I put them. I saw some mention on the bulb forum of them not getting wet so that they freeze/thaw, freeze/thaw, so should I put them in the unheated, unoccupied barn? Or right out in the snow?
Thanks for your replies!
