Baltimore Checkerspot host plant question.

I had almost forgotten how long ago I had last posted here... we don't have butterflies for a good portion of the year around here and seeing all the pictures of green growing things and butterflies in February and (even now) just makes me that much more sick of winter.

Oh, right the question. This is more of something I was curious about than something that actually had relevance to any butterfly around here. Baltimore Checkerspot... what's it's host plant range? I know, Chelone right? But most sources I see list Chelone glabra as the sole host plant- not the other species. Chelone lyonii is the turtlehead usually grown in gardens. Is this species really restricted to Chelone glabra or does it have more to do with range than host plant acceptance? It would be unfortunate if the turtleheads planted in most gardens are not suitable for this uncommon butterfly.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
