Probably lots of other interesting native wildflowers still present in the region. If you plant some of these instead of the same common garden flowers everyone else has all over the temperate world then you have something different and special.

Oh wow, thanks... looked it up!! Sounds as if I should go out first thing tomorrow and rip it out! Highly invasive (I've only had it one season and it's definitely spread but still in the "looking nice but not yet taking over" phase. yes.. pokeweed ... poisonous unless properly researched.. do not eat it roots that make horseradish look tame ... check out the link thoroughly and completely invasive due to the two bazillion seed it will produce... any piece of root left in the ground.. will resprout.. round up 100% on the cut stalk should do it.. repeat if necessary ... get rid of it immediately.. or you will live to regret it.. if it doesnt sneak in and kill you in the night.. lol ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

Hypericum androsaemum. Probably and most likely 'Albury Purple'. In z5 may die to the ground, but will resprout from the roots. Will self seed. If it will blom for you this year, babies will be visible by fall. You may want to dig out some of them and overwinter in unheated garage to make sure you'll have it for next year.
