Hello to all of the old friends, and nice to meet you to the new ones! Spring is here, and the butterfly fever has begun! Thought I would update you on what is going on here in my NW GA yard. I have already released 38 Black Swallowtails this spring, more males than females. They had overwintered in my garage. I have Spicebush SWT chrysalides from last fall, and I still have the one Zebra SWT chrysalis. Maybe it's dead, but we know not to give up on Swallowtails. :) I am seeing big Tigers in the yard, but that is about it so far, other than the BST's I've released myself. I do have eggs and tiny BST cats on my Fennel already. Butterfly Weed has broken the ground, and I just planted 2 Swamp MW plants that I picked up at the native plant sale.
