Successfully relocated of soaptree yucca (yucca elata) ??

Have you successfully relocated a soaptree yucca (yucca elata)? If so, how? How tall was the yucca? How deep did you need to dig to get the taproot? What was the weather or time of year? Anything else you think was of importance to your success?

I need to relocate four small (1-2 feet tall) soaptree yuccas that are where structures are planned to be built. (All of the larger yuccas will remain in place.) Each has grown from seed in undisturbed native soil.

I understand from
http://www.fs.fed.us/database/feis/plants/shrub/yucela/all.html
and other sources that this variety of yucca has the longest taproot and is the most difficult to move. I will keep the sun orientation the same and try for as much taproot as possible. The suggestion in the link is to water immediately after transplanting. Any other suggestions to improve the success rate?

Thanks in advance,

Anna
