Fertilizing during Winter

Happy New Year's, All.

During winter, I stop fertilizing 99% of my tropicals..100% succulents.

My question is, if a succulent buds or flowers, can it be fertilized? If so, what type and strength fert?

I'm in IL so plants are indoors. Sux are in south and west windows, under artificial light at night.. (7 hours)

Our winters are fairly gray. To be honest, if it wasn't for artificial lighting, I doubt they'd ever bloom. 'During winter months.'

One other question. Although some succulents bloom throughout the year, do those like Aloe flower in summer months? One Aloe bloomed one tiny stalk/flower last July or Aug...does this mean it won't reflower this year? Or within the next 12 months? Thanks, Toni
