Stef, What kind of milkweed seeds are they? I know some (maybe most?) milkweeds need a period of cold to germinate. I planted Swamp Milkweed seeds last fall and they automatically got a cold treatment because they were outside all winter. If I were just starting them inside or outside this spring, though, I would have had to already had them in the frig for awhile. On the Monarch Watch website, it explains better than I can about propagation of milkweeds. I'll include the link for you below.

Where are you starting the seeds; indoors or outdoors? I have about 12 containers of milkweed that have been outside for a few weeks now. I've had excellent germination when winter sowing milkweeds; both annuals and perennials. Normally, they germinate sometime in April for me, depending on the weather. I think they'll be early this year, but who knows. I can't grow from seed indoor for the life of me, so I can't offer any advice there ;)

Hee Hee, Tracey - neither can I. But, I don't have a lot of room indoors, which is why I winter sow. All of my milkweeds I winter sowed are up. But, they were winter sown because they needed cold stratification in order to germinate. If you have species other than A. curassavica (which is a tropical annual in PA), it may take awhile yet for them to pop up. If they don't begin to show in another couple of weeks or a month, I would refrigerate them to give them some cold treatment, for at least a month.

Tracey, mine were up last month in early March. I think you're right about them being early this year.

It's just common milkweed I'm trying to grow in flats. I figure I'm going to try the fridge thing suggested in the link. I also wonder if they were completely ready when my husband harvested the pods. He was anxious to get the yard cleaned up in the fall and may have taken them before they were ready.

I grew some this year I got the seeds on ebay from a lady I always get her seeds they always sprout can give ya her name .These all sprouted in 7 days and they were so easy so far.
