can you help? I'm repotting a crowded bulb

I had a huge bulb that I managed to keep alive over the summer and brought it back in doors last month. It has very little space in the pot and has a couple baby plants now also.

I took it out of it's pot to put it into a bigger pot. It had so much roots. They are wrapping around the bulb -- when I pulled it out, the roots were in the shape of the pot. I took a sharp knife and sliced off the bottome 1/2" of roots which were growing around the container.

What should I do with the roots all around the side of the bulb? I was going to leave them as is.

Also, what should I do with the babies growing? leave them or try to remove them?

Any other tips to get it to flower over the next few months? it has loads of healthy leaves and looks happy. I did fertilize is with bulb fertilizer over the summer and kept it watered.

Thanks for any tips you can offer.
