What are you hoping makes it thru this winter?

I just filled the veggie bed a couple of weeks ago with plants winter sown last winter. Some are still tiny, but they had good roots for their size. The soil has been kept moist by the rains we've been having - good autumn rains that come every third day or so. I'll be mulching with shredded leaves later on to give extra protection.

Arisaema Consanguinium Poseidon is the one I'm hoping will come back. There are 12 small plants. I talk to them every time I go by and encourage them to keep growing their roots. :O)

Another is a yellow Baptisia Australis. Eight small ones. My experience with the blue was that it survived the first winter no problem although it was as small as the yellows are now. Five years later, they are, of course, monsters in the gardens. Beautiful, but massive. I didn't expect big ones like that!!

Another is Asclepias Syriaca. Crossing my fingers on that one since something ate the tops after they were transplanted.

So, what's on your wish list for returns??
