How long does it take a jade to look like a little tree???
Comments (26)Hello! I'm sorry. I admit I got too desperate. And thank you for the reply (: I'm new here so no idea how this place works. I thought probably I was never going to get a response. Yes the soil doesn't look right to me either. My gardener potted it in that. The soil is water retaining and fine-grained. And yes, the pot has got drain holes, and I keep emptying the water tray. I'll change the soil, and repot it. And what sort of pot should I use? The current one is a plastic one. Should I replace it with a clay one when I repot it? And is the pot size okay or should I get a bigger one? Thank you so much! Was really helpful! ^_^ P.S: I live in India. And hey, I'm also worried about those white marks you see on the leaf surface. Are they water marks or some disease?...See MorePoinsettia - how long can it live?
Comments (8)Mine is 3 years old from a 6 inch supermarket pot. It lives outside as soon as it doesn"t get lower than 40-45 degrees. Long island NY zone 6. It is now about 4 feet tall. how I'M getting it back into my little house this year is a mystery. It's in a 30 inch pot now and the stems are turning red so I hope for flowers at Christmas. Others I had lasted 5-6 years but never got this big. When they are inside they are very fussy about water too much or too little and all the leaves fall off on the floor. I find that they like repotting every year in regular old potting mix. They do not like being root bound.Hubby waters it with the water from the ice cooler, the sprinkler and whatever happens to be handy. when it's inside i just use a regular small watering can for house plants....See MoreHow long can I expect my cayenne pepper plant to live?

Comments (22)Thanks everyone for your advice and help. I know I must look impatient, but I've been staring at this stupid wall for months and months. What seems like minutes to y'all has really been months for me. I tried the easiest suggestion of disassembling the sectional and it simply just doesn't work. If it broke apart differently, but it doesn't and after breaking it apart and slinging the parts all over the room I've abandoneed that idea (which would be a great one if the thing would break apart right). While it is a great suggestion and was my original concept for the room, I've already had the sectional under the window and it didn't work; it is too wide and accentuates the narrowness of the space. I know this flies in the face of magazine decorating, but I think it is silly to have a room set up so you can't really watch the TV when the major purpose of the room is the TV. But if I also don't want the TV to be the first thing a person sees when they walk into a room, IYKWIM? I really like the moulding ideas. I've been thinking about that and seeing pictures inspires me and will help me explain what I'm thinking to my husband. Good ideas there, well, good ideas everywhere; I wish I could make some of these ideas work. I guess I have to make a decision: fashion or comfort. I have another couch and loveseat that reflects my taste better, more french country, but they aren't nearly as comfortable as the big, sprawly sectional and I think I might have to repaint since there is a lot of green in the other set. We bought this sectional because our entire family could sprawl out and watch TV, but now we're empty nesters and I'm rethinking it. Finally, dawnp, I do love this picture a lot. If I keep the sectional then that is maybe a good direction to go....See More- 14 years ago
