Yes, it does remind me of paradoxa, but the stems are much, much smaller. Not more than 1/8" in diameter. I did find a ssp. of paradoxa - ssp. septentrionalis - and it says the stems are smaller. Maybe that's it... I was hoping someone had come across this EA plant and had found a positive ID.

In my search for photos, I found the MOST spectaular photos of Rhips! I'll put the link in below. If you grow them, you're in for some mouth-watering photos!

I have a similar one, It was ID'd as Rhipsalis paradoxa subsp. septentrionalis.

Just to make it more confusing, I came across this, Rhipsalis pacheco-leonis ssp catenulata that's very paradoxa-like.

That one's certainly a big one - more like paradoxa! Mine's segments are closer to the size of the old "Drunkard's Dream" Hatioria. (Just a bit bigger.) Here's a photo of the plant in it's pot...

It's unlike any I've ever seen before. If only EA could actually come up with more than "Rhipsalis sp." But I suppose we should be thankful they even got that close!

Just wanted to follow up - Mentha posted it over on the Rhip board and a suggestion was made. In the process of researching the suggestion, I'm pretty sure I found out what my mystery Rhip is. At Cloud Jungle, they have a photo of R. micrantha forma kirbergii, and it was also mentioned that it was an EA plant. So I think I've got as good an ID as I can get until it flowers. Thanks for your help, Mentha!

I'm glad I could help, and that you joined. I feel like the dumb blond who is kept around for flavor when I read some of those posts ;)

Another update (is there ever an end to the search for a correct ID??) Apparently Harry from Cloud Jungle and Ken from Rhipsalis.com both agree that this is sulcata. So my permenant tag now reads "Rhipsalis sulcata." Hope anyone buying this EA plant takes note.
