OT - Filipendula/Queen of the prairie

I have had this plant in rich soil (Yes, there is such a place on our property :O), sun 'til noon, shade the rest of the day. It RUNS!! I just removed it to plant an Anna belle Hydrangea which I got for $1.00. Good place for the Annabelle which has been revived in it's 5 gallon pot and is now at a stately 5 feet. :O) I digress by the excitement of it all....

Back to the Filipendula. If I plant this beautiful monster in a sunnier place with leaner meaner soil, will it start sending out underground shoots the size of New York 1.5 feet away and further as it did in it's old spot or will it act a bit more tamed and be more 'clumpish'?

Where is your's and how does it grow?

I love this plant and would dearly like to find it's place in the gardens.
